Informational Item (Ordinance No. 1356) �,� � `'� Ms. Porter wanted everyone to be aware of Chis ordinance. Board Orals `3 Commissioner Law had many concerns, including the City's Community' ; Development Block Grant Program compliance/noncompliance with the Federal � Government, the Urban Aid Program and the Senior Citizen Program. I 't Commissioner Carr is still'concerned about the Coimnunity Services Program and would like a breakdown of the Commission's allocation. Cornmissioner � Carr repeated her request for a written report on the Commission's original allocation of $800,000. - Ms. Porter assured Conunissioners Law and Carr that their concerns will be . covered in an expected presentation by Assistant City Manayer Faustin Gonzales. There was a short discussion by al l present concerning the Commission's � allocation to the Community Services Program. Ms. Porter reminded the Commissioners they had approved the reconstruction. Commissioners Carr, Franklin and Ventura welcomed Commissioner Alfort to' the Commission. Commissioner Alfort expressed his gratitude and hopes for good things in the future. - Commissioner Wibecan donated his time to Ms. Cyntihia Green-Geter, who invited all present to her installation as a member of the Lynwood Board- , of Trustees. Chairperson Araujo welcomed Commissioner Alfort. She told him there. would be presentations by staff that will acquaint him with.his duties and responsibilities as a CDBGAB .Commissioner. K. Adjournment MOTION by Commissioner Wibecan to adjourn to the next regularly scheduled meeting of December 4, 1991, SECONDED by Commissioner Ventura. MOTION carried unanimously. I' .. � � , :� �it o� YNwoon - :���y �w �- °� �, .�.�,.. . `� �A Ctty �Uleeting CNaQQenges �' � � `,� y� �, �� "�'� � 71330 BULLIS ROAD • LYNWOOD, CAIIFORNIA 90262 (213)603-0220 DATE: December 4, 1991 TO: Community Development Block Grant Advisory Board Commission FROM: Kenrick Karefa-Johnson, Director of Community Development SUBJECT: Public Hearing on CHAS-Informational Only As.stated in the draft document of the City of Lynwood's Comprehensive Housing Affordability Strategy (CAAS), the CHAS„is a five year action-oriented management tool developed to identify housing needs in the City in conjunction with resources and ' programs to address those needs. Title I of the National Affordable Housing Act (NAHA) requires that state and local government have an approved CHAS in order to apply for CDBG entitlement funding from the Department of Housing and Urban ; Development (HUD). In compliance with HUD regulations this public hearing on the CHAS is being held to obtain the views of "citizens, public agencies, and other interested parties" on local housing needs. Consideration to the public views and comments will be given and • a summary of public comments will be attached to the final draft , of the CHAS before it is submitted to I-ILTD. The purpose of the public hearing of December 4, 1991 is to ; receive commerits only and not for the approval of the CHAS. A , second public hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, January 21, 1992 � at 7:30 p.m., at that time the CHAS will be submitted to the ' Lynwood City Council for approval. i I i � I � Q o:
