CALL TO ORDER
A Special Council Meeting was called to order at 5:30 PM by Mayor Tom Rackers. The
following Council Members were present for roll call:
Present: Angle, Blaney, Jackson, Landwehr, Nelson, Viessman, Vincent and Vogel
Absent: Olsen and Weber
A quorum was declared present.
PRESENTATION BY CONSULTANT
The City's consultant Corey Schultz of Parsons - Brinckerhoff reviewed Central Business
District improvement planning to date. Mr. Schultz discussed sidewalk conditions, location
and quality of the trees, the presence of underground vaults, sidewalk cross - sections,
facade interfaces with sidewalks, mid -block crosswalks, intersection decorative pavement,
sidewalk widths, possible irrigation system, handicapped parking spaces, parallel vs.
diagonal parking and cost estimates. Mr. Schultz then answered several questions from
Council members and citizens.
A motion was made by Councilman Vogel and seconded by Councilman Jackson to
authorize Parsons - Brinckerhoff to proceed with the third and final phase of the project for
detailed plans and specifications for the proposed Central Business District improvements.
The motion passed unanimously.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Council at this time, it was moved by
Councilman Jackson and seconded by Councilman Vincent to adjourn. Motion passed
unanimously at approximately 6:00 PM.
