COMMUNITY ACCESS ADVISORY BOARD
Minutes of the Meeting of
December 9, 1991
The regular meeting of the Community Access Advisory Board of the
City of Lynwood was held December 9, 1991, at the City Hall
Council Chambers. (The agenda was duly posted as prescribed by
the Brown Act.)
Chairperson Mary Wright called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
Members in attendance were Bill Cunningham, Ann Fields, and Mary
Wright. Olympia Dudenhoeffer and Ada McZeal were absent.
Staff present were Harold Mattoon, Don Morris, and Pat Alvarez.
The minutes of the October 14 and November 11, 1991, were
approved as distributed.
SCHEDULED MATTERS
A. ATTENDANCE EVALUATION
A copy of the attendance report for the months of January
through November, 1991, was distributed for board members'
review. It was decided that only extreme emergency cases
would be considered excused absences.
B. TOPICS FOR UPCOMING LYNWOOD SHOWCASE PROGRAMS
- Fire Department - First Aid Tips �
- Dedication of St. Francis new facility I
- City Clerk's office functions i
- Children's Health Fair
- Code Enforcement Functions !
Mary Wright inquired about having a new show every two weeks as i
it was previously done. Don Morris said that as long as they had �
enough programming, that it could be done. ;
Don Morris said that he has help from a volunteer (15 hours per I
week). Board members suggested obtaining more volunteers, so '
that Don Morris can concentrate on shooting and editing segments. �

Don Morris also mentioned that he often gets special requests �
from people who want to view a particular showcase again. It was
suggested that if enough people ask to see a specific segment, it i
could be aired again. If only one or a few persons would like to �
see something again, a copy of the videotape could be provided to I
them. �

It was mentioned that the Christmas Parade will be shown
separately as a Special Edition.
C. LYNWOOD SHOWCASE PREVIEWING SCHEDULE
Jim Given distributed copies of the updated Lynwood Showcase
viewing schedule. The viewings will continue to be held at
the conference room at 8:0� a.m. on the scheduled days.
, D. ANNUAL COMMISSIONERS AND BOARD MEMBERS DINNER
Mary Wright reminded board members about the Annual
Commissioners and Board Members Dinner to be held on
Wednesday, December 18, 1991, at 6:30 p.m. at Batemen Hall.
PUHLIC ORALS
- Ann Fields suggested to find middle-aged and retired
volunteers to assist with the Lynwood Showcase. Ms. Fields
also will assist in finding some Lynwood residents to be
interviewed for the Lynwood Showcase regarding the history
of Lynwood.
- Bill Cunningham inquired about the suggestions that the
Board members gave as possible segments for the Lynwood
Showcase. Don Morris said he is working on them, and he
` also asked board members for suggestions for the "Did You
Know" segments.
- Don Morris interviewed the newly elected dignitaries at
the Christmas Parade, he will use those segments for the
Lynwood Showcase.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 6:12
