� The (:ity of Lynwood's Youth (:ommission met in a regular session on
July 1 at 6:02 p.m. at the Lynwood Teen Center, located at 114U9
Birch Street. �
Chairperson Cornecia Banks presided.
Cnairperson Cornecia Banks, Vice i;�airperson Jesus Trigo,
Commissioners F. Airada, B. Contreras, M. Hardin, and M. Zavala
were present.
Commissioners C. Green, S. Green, J. Perez, and D. Wells were not
present.
Recreation Superintendent Jim Given certified the posting of the
agenda.

Pro�ram Reports ,
Recreation Superintendent, Jim Given reported the annual Unity
F'estival is scheduled for Jufy il. The City wilt be providing their
annual 4 th of July Fireworks show at Uymally Fark. The show
begins at dusk. 'i'he Lynwood Sports Nssociation has rireworks

Youth Forum I
Vlce Chairperson Jesus Trigo discussed the upcoming Youth Forum �
which will take place on Wednesday, July 15, 1�J-92 at tne Lynwood �
Unified School District Education Center. �
The Youth Commission has been asked to be part of the leadership
team. 'Chey wil! need to attend a training session on July d, 155'L.
Commissioner Perez, Wells, S. Green, C. Green arrived. �
Councilwoman Evelyn Wells and School 8oard Member Gynthia Green ��,
Geter arrived. ;
They have also been selected to submit the theme for the event.
It was movad by Commissioner C. 6reen an0 seconded by S. Green to �
select ^A Better Tomorrow in the Youth of Today" as the theme Yor �
the event. Motion carried. .
Approval of Past Minutes ��
[t was moved by Commissioner Contreras and seconded by Gommissioner �

Cornecia Banks should be listed as Chairperson, rather than Vice
Ghairperson in Oral Communications. Motion carried.
Youth Council Meetin�s
Diana Escalante distributed to the commission the ^ Youth Council
Meetings List^ which indicates which tiouth Council meeting each
commissioner will attend.
School kepresentatives
Gommissioner Contreras reported the Gommencement Geremonies have
taken place at Lynwood High School and Y and 'G tracKS have begun
the next school year.
ORAL COMMUNfCAT/UN
Pu6tic Orals
Evelyn Wells, 3879 LeSage, encouraged the commission to be more
involved with the stUdent councils oT Hosler Junior High School and
Lynwood High School by having joint meetings with them_
� Cynthia Green Geter, 3850 Virginia Avenue, stressed to the
commission the importance of the Youth Forum. -
Commission Orats I
Commissioner Perez apologized for being late .
Commissioner G.Green discussed the commission's new 15 minutes late
rule.
Gommissioner S.Green apologized ior not attenaing the last meeting. �
Commissioner Zavala stated that she will try her best to attend the
Youth Forum. !

Chairperson C. Banks stated the 15 min�te late rule will be
ofYicially implemented at the August S meeting.

It was moved by Gommissioner Contreras ana seconded by Commissioner i
Green to adjourn to the next regularly scheduled meeting on �,
