Chairperson Cornecia Banks presided. Chairperson Banks, Vice Chairperson Jesus Trigo, Commissioners Agaalii, Airada., Gontrera.s, Ha.rdin a.nd Zavaia answered roli call. Commissioners Araujo, C. Green, S. Green, Perez, and Wells did not answer rotl call. ' Facility and Program S'upervisor Leo Rodriguez certified the posting of the agenda. It was moved by Commiss.ioner Contreras and�seconded by Commissioner� Hardin to approve the minutes of May 6, 1992. Motion carried. ' � INFORMAfIONAL ITEMS Fro�ra.m Reports Facilily and Program Supervisor Leo Rodriguez reported tha+. the Recreation and Parks Department will host the Southern Caiifornia Municipal Athletic Federation's Track and Field Championships on Saturday, May 23 at Vetera.ns Stadi�m in Long Beach. 'fhe Youth Commissioner are invited to come on out and volunteer at the event. On Frida.y, Ma.y 22 tt�e City of Lynwood will be honoring the slain I Deputy Sheriff, Yamamoto 6y renaming Enterprise Way in his name. Tha Teen Center is being considered as a possible Food llistribution ' � Center by the Food and Drug Administration. . I The Youth Council held their election on Monday, May 11, 1992. Danny Haley was elected as Chairperson. _ �I . The Youth Council. is considerrng a monthly clean up day. � � � Cameron Green arrived at 6:14 � i � Youth Forum � � - i i Recreation Sta2'f, Diana Escalante reported tha.t the Youth Forum � meeting with the Lynwoad Unified School Uistrict scheduled for �� � - today was canceled. The event is scheduied for.�Chursda.y, May 28, 1992. Commissioners will be notified as to the new time frame of I the event. I � � � � Commissioner Joe Araujo arrived at 6:19 p.m. Commissioner�Jaime Perez arrived at 6:2u p.m. � Talent Show/Dance r � � Diana Escalante reported that all is set for the Tatent Show La.nce scheduled for Sunday, June 7, 1992. A list of assignments were handed out and discussion ensued. Commissioner Shiniqua Green arrived at 6:25 p.m. Scholarship Pro�ram . � ' Facility and Program Supervi�sor Leo Rodriguez stated that he wi�ll be taking the scholarship letters and applications to the High School on Thursday morning. Commissioner Contrera.s and 'La.vaba. volunteered to accompany him. Diana Escalante replied that he would rieed to be at Bateman Halt tomorrow for the auditions. � i Commissioner S. Green apologized for being late. ' � Vice Chairperson Jesus Trigo commended the eftorts of Commissioners I � - Contreras, 'Zavala, 5. Green, Araujo and Chairperson Banks for their efforts in poster making.
