SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Pursuant to the MOA effective May 9, 2015 between the City of McCall, Federal Highway Administration,
Idaho Transportation Department (ITD), and the Historic Preservation Office (SHPO). The MOA has been
revised from the original to reflect an extension of the time frame to complete mitigation work and an
adjustment to the scope of work that the mitigation funds will be used for at the Southern Idaho Timber Site
(SITPA Site), or otherwise known as the Central Idaho Historic Site (Museum Site).
Funds in the amount of $40,000 were allocated by ITD to the City of McCall to mitigate historic impacts to
the Lardo Bridge when it was re-constructed in 2015-16. $20,000 of those funds were used to create an
interpretive site on the history of the bridge in Rotary Park. This portion of the mitigation work has been
completed. The other $20,000 was earmarked to make repairs to the Ten Bay Structure at the SITPA site.
Since the time of the original MOA it was identified by City staff and the museum board that the funds
would be better utilized on the site to re-roof the original garage / bunkhouse building on site which houses
the museum operations. This decision was also vetted before the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO)
as well as ITD staff and all agreed.
The attached MOA was revised by ITD to reflect an extension in the time frame to complete the work and
the adjustment to the scope of work in the amount of up to $20,000 at the Historic Southern Idaho Timber
Site.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve the revised Memorandum of Agreement between the Federal Highway Administration, Idaho
Transportation Department, The Idaho State Historic Preservation Office, and the City of McCall, and
authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents.
