'Che City ot Lynwood Youth Commission met in a regular sesslon at
.the '1'een (;enter, loca.ted a.t 11409 Birch Street on the above date
at 6:12 p.m. �
Because neither the Chairperson or Vice Chairperson were present,
Facility and Program Supervi�or Leo Rodriguoz cailed tY�e meeting
to order.
Commissioners Agaalii, Airada, Contreras, C. Green. S. Green,
Hardin, Perez, l'rigo and VJells ansvered roll call.
Chairperson Boykin, Vice Chairperson Banks, and Gommissio�er
Zavafa did not answer� roll cali.
Also present was 1'ony Brown, Chairperson. Youth Council.
Leo Rodriguez certified the posting of the agenda at the City
Council Chambers and at the Teen Genter.
It was moved by Commissioner "I'rigo and seconded by Commissioner
Perez to approve the minutes or February 5, 199"L. Motion
carried.
/NFOKMAT'I�NAL JTEMS
ProRram Reports
Recreation Statf Diana Escalante revieved the recreal�.onal
activities for the month of February 1992. The Black History
Youth Recognition Program wLll be on February 28 and there will
also be entertainment and food booths on Saturday, February G9.
It was requested that Lhe Youih Commission assist the department
at tYie Youth Recognition Night to help serve the refreshments. -
Commissioners Contreras, S. Green, "Crigo and Welle volunteered.
Friday night's programs is from 7;30 -9:30 p.m. and Saturday's is
from 12:00 noon - 5:00 p.m. �
Leo Rodriguez dis-cussed the activities at the Teen Center. He and
Perry bren+�, Fa.cili±.y a.nd Frograms S�.�pervisor ga.ve a
presentation a.t Hosler Junior High School, in hopes of be�inning
an afterschool reading program. 'i'he students at the schoof also
wished to begin a monthly dance program at the Teen Center.
'Phe Youth Council min�tes from February will be distributed at
the next meeting.

Anti-Graffiti Gay
Diana EscatanCe reported tY�at because oC the raLn, the Anti- .
Graffiti Paint Out Uay was postooned until Saturday, March 28,
1992. Gommissioner l;ontreras inYOrmed the commission that
students of Washington Efementary were interested in
pa.rticipating at the event.
Educational Forum
Diana Escalante reported tha_t the department is stitl securing
the speakers ior tiie for�?m. Magic ,�nf�nson wilt not be a.ble to
attend due to a prior commitment. A iuil report will be given a.t
the nexl meeting.

Staif Dra.ls
Leo Rodriguez reported that the Lynwood Sports Association will
be having its annual Golf 'I'ournament on Friday, March 27, 1992.
Public Orals

Commission Orals
Commissioner Perez inquired as to past commissioners assisting
the department after they ha.ve left the commissioners. Leo
Rodriguez replied that the departmcnt would be grateYul ror any
assistance and input the community can give the department.
Commissioner Trigo inquired sta.tus of lhe attendance repori: of
the commissioner. Giana Escalante repled that the department is
researching the data..
Adiournment
It was moved by Commissioner Perez and seconded by Commissioner
Contreras to a.djourn to +_tie next reg�larly scheduied meeting on
March 4, 1992. Motion carried.
Meeting was adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
