The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Julio Mendoza at 6:05 p.m.
The Invocation was presented by Conmissioner George Martini and the Pledge of

stated that the event will host celebrity appearances. He distributed a

Mr. Given also addressed the subject of the IIPAR grant in which was applied
for last year. 50,000. federal grant with 30$ match up. This money is to
be used for a media center to be housed in the Teen Center. A building i
extension is expected for the multi media project. This project should ,
cost nearly $100,000.
Mr. Mattoon announced the approval, by the city council, of the Wall af �
Fame Project.

Mr. Mattoon discussed the financial workshop to be held on February 7, 1992 i
for depar*_ment heads. A list of the itans anticipated for the Recreation
Department was distributed. C�xrmissioner Espeseth camientzd on the :ssu� '
of the roofing of the Natatoriiun. Mr. Mattoon announced tha± !he totai
expense need is $34,000,000. for all ±he �ro;ects. He a!so ��tated `hat �

� structural probl� are now at the point that it can no longer wait. The
parking situation at 'Bate�man Hall was another example. Cmrmissioner
Espeseth eacpressed that St. Francis should be responsible for paving the
parking area behind the Natatoriwn due to their constant use of big
equipment.

^mm�issioner Espeseth: 1. had a concern wit.h the caterer at a function
heid in Bateman Hali. Mr. Mattoon stated that
the caterer has done excellent work for the City
in the past.

Celebration.

Corrmissioner Ebans: 1. Ms Anderson announced to the Ccmnissioners, for
Cmrtnissioner Et�ans, to plan to attend the
National Camussioner Banquet to be held on
March 5- 8 at the Queen Mary.

Mr Mattoon announced the update of the transit center. Progress has beer
' slow due to the rain.
