REGULAR MEETING OF THE PERSONNEL BOARD
CITY OF LYNWOOD
June 18, 1992
The regular meeting of the Personnel Board of the City of Lynwood, California was
held on Thursday, June 18, 1992, at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the
Lynwood City Hall, 11330 Buliis Road, Lynwood, California. The agenda was duly
posted as prescribed by the Brown Act.
CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Gilpen called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. Roll call was taken by Gail
Black, Director of Human Resources. Commissioners' Bell, Gilpen, Litke and Swift
were present. Commissioner Lewis was excused.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE '

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The motion was made by Commissioner Swift and seconded by Commissioner Bell to i
approve the minutes of the regular May 21, 1992 meeting. I

STUDIES & REPORTS I
Commissioner Swift made the motion and Commissioner Bell seconded to grant the i
request of Shane Moshiri for a termination appeal hearing. The Board set the appeal
hearing date for June 29, 1992 at 5p.m. All in favor. Motion carried.

Commissioner Swift made the motion and Commissioner Bell seconded to adjourn to
the special meeting of June 29, 1992 at 5p.m. All in favor. Motion carried.
The next regularly scheduled meeting is July 16, 1992. ;

SUBJECT: FIREFIGHTER TRAINEE ELIGIBILITY LIST
OBJECTIVE
To receive the Board's approval for the extension of the
Firefighter Trainee eligibility list for six (6) months.
FACTS
1) The Personnel Board certified the eligibility list for the
position of Firefighter Trainee on August 15, 1991. The
list is due to expire August 15, 1992.
2) The Fire Chief/Director of Public Safety, Gerald Wallace, has
requested the list be extended for six (6) months in the event
any vacancy occurs and the budget allows for filling said
vacancy (see attached memo). �
3) Personnel Rules and Regulations, Rule VIII, EmploVment Lists, I
Section 2, provides for.the extension, prior to expiration
date of list, by action of the Personnel Board for additional
six (6) month periods, but in no event shall an employment list I
remain in effect for more than two (2) years.
RECONIDIENDATION i
That the Personnel Board approve a six (6) month extension of the �
current Firefighter Trainee eligibility list from 8-15-92 to
2-15-93. I
