The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in an ad,~ourned regular session, in the Council Chamber of the City Hall, 11331 Plaza Street, on above date, at 1:30 P. M. Mayor Lake in the chair. Councilmen Christensen, Meyer and Lake answered the roll call. Councilmen Nation and Snyder were absent. Thereupon Memorandum of Agreement for Expenditure of 1/4 cent Gas Tax on Streets of Mayor Importance, were received from the State oP California Department of Public Works, Division of Highways. RESOLUTION N0. 1187, entitled: "RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUN- CIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT FOR EX- PENDITURE OF 1/4 CENT GAS TAX ALLOCATED FOR STREETS OF MAJOR IMPORTANCE," was read. Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Meyer and seconded by , Councilman Christensen that said Resolution No. 1187 be adopted. Roll Calls Ayes: Councilmen Christensen, Meyer and Lake. Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen Snyder and Nation. Thereupon Memorandum of Agreement for Expenditure of 1/4 gas tax on State Highways, were received from the State of California De- partment of Public Works, Division of Highways. RESOLUTION N0. 1188, entitled: "RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUN- CIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT FOR EX- PENDITURE OF 1/4 CENT GAS TAX ALLOCATED FOR STATE HIGHWAYS", was read. Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Christensen and seconded by Coun- cilman Meyer that said Resolution No. 1188 be adopted. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Christensen, Meyer and Lake. Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen Snyder and Nation. A aommunication was received from Engineer Bateman to the effect that when the City acquired the water lines in Tract No. 5103 from Mr. E. Burr it also acquired certain easement rights along portions of the tract now being deeded for Pendelton Street. The Title Companys therefore, require the City to sign the two tract maps effected, Tract No 10269 and Tract No. 11911. It is therefore requested that the Mayor be authorized to sign said maps for and on behalf of the City. Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Meyer and seconded by Councilman Christensen that the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to sign said maps for and on behalf of the City of Lynwood. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Christensen, Meyer and Lake. Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen Snyder and Nation. A communication was received from Engineer Bateman reporting on the bids for Plant Mix material needed in repairing streets, report- ing as follows: BIDDER PRICE AT PLANT PRICE DELIVERED 1. G. G. Fisher X1.80 per ton 2.00 per ton. 2. C. 0. Sparks 2.00 per ton 2.30 per ton 3. Mundo Engineering 2.05 per ton 2.35 per ton City Engineer Bateman recommended that the contract be awarded to G. G. Fisher Equipment Co., on the basis of plant delivery. Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Meyer and seconded by Councilman Christensen that the recommendations of Engineer Bateman be accepted and that contract be let to G. G. Fisher Equipment Co. as per their bid. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Christensen, Meyer and Lake. Noels None. Absent: Councilmen Snyder and Nation. Inasmuch as Governor Olson has declared Monday, July 3rd,. a legal holiday, it was duly moved by Councilman Christensen and seconded by Councilman Meyer that the offices of the City Hall be closed on said day to comply with the Governor's proclamation. All members of the Council present voting aye, the Mayor declared the mo- tion duly carried. At this time Councilman Snyder arrived and took his seat at the Council table. Black oG~. 396.95 It was moved by Councilman Meyer and seconded by Coun- cilman Christensen that the demands be allowed and warrants be drawn on the City Treasurer for said various demands. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Christensen, Meyer Snyder and Lake. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Nation. City Attorney Auby presented report of the Planning Commission in conne etion with the re-zoning of Fernwood Avenue, between Hullis Road to Imperial Highway, to Zone R3, setting forth that hearing was held in accordance with the law, that the ter- ritory had been posted and publication was had according to law, submitting affidavits to substantiate their action in connection therewith, recommending that said district be rezoned from R-i to R-3. City Attorney Ruby thereupon presented an Ordinance in connection therewith. Thereupon an ordinance, entitleds "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LYN1100D, CALIFORNIA, CHAftGIN(~ FROM ZONE R1 as establisk~edby Ordin. 285, to Zone R3 as established by Sec. 7~ off` Ordih. 2$5, all Lots being and lying within ss,id City between the westerly lime of M~id3eska Park and the westerly line of Bullis Road, and' facing or abutting on Fernwood~Avenue, and other specified larrts ad~jaeent thereto, and exEepting therefrom all lands now in Zone C3 and Zone M2 as established by said Ordinance No. 285," was read by caption. Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Meyer and seconded by Councilman Snyder that the further reading of said Ordinance be waived. A11 members of the Council present voting aye,.the Mayor declared the motion duly carried and it was so ordered. Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Snyder and seconded by Councilman Meyer that said Ordinance be accepted as read the first time and pass to the second readt~~. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Christensen, Meyer, Snyder and Lake. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Nation. It was moved by Councilman Meyer and seconded by Council- man Christensen that the meeting adjourn to July 5th, 1939, at 7:30 P. M., the regular meeting date of JulyaSth, 1939 falling upon a holiday.
