Councilmen i~~=eyer, Nation andLake answered the roll call. Councilmen Christensen and Snyder v~aere absent. The City Clerk annouried that he had served a co~.~y of the call for the meeting at least three hours prior to the meetin~~; as required by law, on all members of the City Council with the exception of Coun- cilmen Christensen and Snyder who were out of town, however, that he had consents for the hold.in~ of said meeting; from them in the form of a telegraphic communication, said calls a_nd consents readin;~ as follows: "Dear Councilmen Nation and.~~~e~er: You are hereby notified to attend a Special ~y":eetin~m of the ity Council of the City of Lynwood to be held in the City call, 11331 Plaza Street On October 30, 1939, at 4:00 o'clock F. ~:~2. This meeting is called for the purpose of taking necessary action in connection with that certain action on file in the Sup- erior Court of the State o:f CalS.fornia, being ease loo. 445431 and entitled: C. Snyder and George Christenseni~ City Attorney Ruby explained that the City of Lynwood has been served with further papers in connection with the case entitled C. A. Hod~ir:s vs. V. A. Nation, City of Lynwood, et al, and that he ha.s r.re- pared a cross Complaint in connection therevaith, requestinm that the Council take official action instructing him so to do. Thereupon it was moved b-r Councilman Nation ?nd seconded. by. Councilman ~~~eyer that the City Attorney be instructed to px~erare a cross complaint on behalf of the City of Lynwood to file in tr.e Sup- erior Court of the State of Cal ifcrnia in connection Vaith t}~.e case entitled; C. A. ~Iodgins, et al, Plaintiff vs. V. A. Nation, City of Lynwooi~, et al, Defendants, beinm Case ~o. 445431.
