ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 28TH, 1941
The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in an adjourned regu-
lar session in the Council Chamber of the City Hall, 11331 Plaza Street, on
above date, at 1 P. M.
Mayor Meyer in the chair.
Councilmen Christensen, Lake, Zimmerman, McMeekin and Meyer ans-
wered the roll call.
A petition was received signed by Claude L. Reber and 15 others
petitioning the Council to rezone Lots 292, 576 and 5??, Tract 2551 to
Zone C3 from Zone R1.
Rev. W. E.. Spicer addressed the Council on behalf of the Chris-
tian Church to the'effeat that the Trustees of the Church authorized him
to sign the petition only if it called for the building of a court or apart-
ment on Lat 292, stating that they are not in favor of rezoning same to a
commercial zone.
After due consideration of the matter, the Mayor instructed the
City Clerk to advise Mr. Reber that he should have a separate petition for
Lot 292: Tract 2551; also advising him that a court could now be built on
said Lot without change of zone if permission was obtained from ad,~oining
property owners.
• The City Clerk was instructed to secure a Painter to help Mr.
Burton complete painting ~f City Hall trim.
• A communication was received from C. E. Haines, accompanied by
check in the total- amount of X10, 647.08, covering the purchase~`of lots a-
ffected by the Agreement entered into on October 29th, 1940, conditioned on
further adjustment of the 1915 Aat Assessments, deeds to be issued to Warrer
P. Scott and Morco Insurance Agency,~Ina. f a~~tain tax des ed l~t ver
R. A. Moffitt addressed the Counc~~gon ~henresul~°~ ~~ie ~~~~~-
tion of said deal specifying the amount of money that would accrue to the
City therefr®m.'
After due consideration of the matter, RESOLUTION N0. 1281, enti-
tled: "RESOLUTION DETERMINING THAT THE PUBLIC INTEREST, CONVENIENCE AND
NECESSITY REQUIRE THE. CANCELLATION OF CERTAIN 1915 ACT ASSESSMENTS AND OR-
DERING THE CANCELLATION THEREOF", was read. It was moved by Councilman
Lake and seconded by Councilman Christensen that said Resolution No. 1281
be adopted.

Meyer.

Thereupon RESOLUTION N0. 1282, entitled: "RESOLUTION SELLING CER.
TAIN REAL ESTATE AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A DEED UPON PAYMENT OF
THE CONSIDERATION NAMED THEREIN", conveying the City's interest to the Lots
listed therein to Morco Insurance Agency, Ina., with the under$tanding that
the purchaser is to ,loin in restricting oP alienation for a period of 24
years against the use or ownership of any of said land by persons other that
of the Caucasian race. was read. It was moved by Councilman Christensen
and seconded by Councilman Lake that said Resolution be adopted.

Meyer.
Noes: None.
~-hereupon RESOLUTION N0. 1283, entitled: "RESOLUTION SELLING
CERTAIN REAL ESTATE AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A DEED UPON PAYMENT
OF THE CONSIDERATION NAMED THEREIN", was read, said Resolution authorizing
the conveying of the Lots listed therein to Warren P. Scott, with the under•
standing that the purchaser is to ~o1n in restricting of•al~enation for a
period of 24 years against the use or ownership of any of said land by per-
sons other than of the Caucasian race. It was moved by. Councilman Christen•
sen and seconded by Councilman Lake that said Resolution No. 1283 be adopter

It was moved by Councilman Christensen and seconded by Council-
man McMeekin that the meeting ad•journ~:to February 4th, 1941, at ?:30 P.M.
All members of the Council voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion duly
carried and it was so ordered.
