HomeMy Public PortalAboutMinutes - 6/2/19691�6 � The Wellsburg Town Council met in regular session on June 2, 1969, with Mayor Riekena presiding and Councilmen Van Deest, Claassen, Eckhoff and Huisman present. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read on a motion by Eckhoff which was seconded by Claassen. Motion carried. On motion by Huisman and seconded by Van Deest, the following bills were allowed for payment: Aeilt Terfehn, salary $425.00 Herman DeVries, salary 425.00 Henry J. Grobe, salary 100.00 B and H Skelly, gas and oil 74.68 Harold Weichers, snow removal 50.00 Henry Hippen, pea gravel 263.15 Ross Construction, clean cesspool and level dump 199.00 Jungling Gulf, gas and oil 108.57 Huisman Bros., water main repair 48.00 John Reents, town dump rental 120.00 Ross and Purvis, tractor rental 38.00 Sailer Ford, tractor parts 17.85 United Telephone Co., toll calls 3.10 Wellsburg Herald, printing 20.20 Henke Mfg. Corp., street brush 281.20 Iowa Electric Light and Power, heat and lights 547.50 On motion by Claassen, seconded by Eckhoff, cigarette per- mits were approved for the following establishments: The Pub, Lindaman Super Market, Wellsburg Tap, Boeke Rexall, Smith Cafe, Jungling Gulf, B and H Skelly, Herman Hippen Tire and Battery, Henry Hippen Auto and Oil. A resolution was presented for one additional street light on Washington Street south of 4th Street to be installed by Iowa Electric Light and Power Company. A motion for adoption of said resolution was made by Van Deest and seconded by Claas- sen. Resolution carried. The treasurer's report was read and adopted following a mo- tion by Eckhoff, seconded by Claassen. On a motion by Claassen, seconded by Huisman, plans only for Project #FN-214-1(1)-21-38 for the paving of Iowa 214 through the town of Wellsburg were approved. By a roll call of votes, Iowa State Highway Commission Res- olution 69-F-079 was approved. Ayes: Eckhoff, Huisman, Claassen, Van Deest. Nays: None Absent: Freese 177 Motion by Eckhoff, seconded by Claassen, to suspend the rules regarding controlled -access facility of Highway 214R"cRt��ie third and final reading for Ordinance 73.1 of Chapter 73 of the Code of the town of Wellsburg. Roll call of votes was as follows: Ayes: Eckhoff, Huisman, Claassen, Van Deest Nays: None Absent: Freese Motion was made by Suisman and seconded by Eckhoff for adjourn- ment. Motion carried. a � Mayor Clerk Special Meeting The Wellsburg Town Council met in special session on June 18, 1969, with Councilmen Freese, Van Deest, Huisman and Eckhoff present. It was agreed to issue a mover's permit in accordance to Chapter 43 of the Code of the Town of Wellsburg to Harm Aukes, Roger Aukes and Russell Gast to move a building from the corner of 3rd and Adams Streets to the Harold Fischer property on south Washington Street.
