AL`JOURNED REGULAR I.~iEETING JULY '7, 1841
The City Council of the City of Lyn~;dood met in an adjourned re-
gular session, in the Council Chamber of the City Hall, 11331 Plaza Street,
on above date, at 1 P, ai.
Tvayor Ivieyer in the chair.
Councilmen Lake, Christensen, Zi;~~merman, TvTcTvieekin and P:"~eyer ans-
wered the roll call.
The I~iayor announced that the purpose of the meeting was to can-
vassthe returns of the election held on June 30, 1941 to determine whether
or not Broadacres shall be annexed.to the City of Lynwood.
The City Clerk stated that one absentee ballot had been received.
Thereupon it was rrioved by Councilman Lake and seconded by Coun-
cilman Zimmerman that said ballot be canvassed by the City Council. All
members of t:~e Council present voting aye, the P.~?ayor declared the motion
duly carried.
The result of suer: canvass showed said ballot votj.ng in favor
of such annexation.
Thereupon it was moved by Councilman I:-ScI~~Ieekin and seconded by
Councilman Lake that the ballot cast at said Special Election be canvass-
ed by the City Council. All mer,~bers of the Council voting aye, the nayour
declared the motion duly carried and it was so ordered.
The Mayor appointed a.ll members of the Council to a.ct as`Tellers.
Thereupon the Tellers re?~orted that the number of votes cast in
Consolidated Voting Precincts known as Lugo Precincts 3 and 13 for a.nd
against the measure voted upon, and the total number of votes cast there-
at to be as follows:
Total number of votes ca Qt at said Election 138
Proposition voted upon:
"Shall 'Broadacres' be 'annexed

Absentee ballot 1
Total number of votes cast in favor thereof: 80 80

Thereupon RESOLUTICN NO. 1334, entitled: "A RESOLUTION OF' THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE INCORPORATED CITY OF LYN~'~'COD, CALIFORNIA, FINDING-.AND
DECLARING ANNEXATION PROCEEDINGS OF '~ROADACRES' COTvIPLETED," was read.
It v~ras moved by Councilman Zimmerman and seconded by Councilman Lake that
said Resolution No. 1334 be a.dor~ted.
Roll Call:
Ayes: Councilmen Lake, Zimmerman, McP~~ieekin, Christensen and Ivieyer.
Noes: None.
Whereupon an Ordinance, entitled: "An Ordinance of the Incorpor-
ated_ City of Lynwood, California, annexing 'Broadacres' to said City of
Lyn~~~ood, " t.~Tas introduced and read for the first time. It arias moved by
Councilman La?~e and seconded by Councilman Christensen that said Ordinance
be accepted as read the first time and pass to the second reading.
Roll Call:
Ayes: Co~ur.cilmen Lake, Zimmerman, Iv,citieekin, Christensen and Pfieyer.
Noes: None.
It was moved by Councilman Lake a.nd seconded by Councilman r~c-
It~eekin that the City Clerk be instructed to communicate ~+1ith all those
groups who participated in the Celebration of the Tti~~entieth Anniversary,
and th.e Committee in charge of the celebration, thanking them for their
cooperation and work in connection with helping to make the celebration a
success. All members of t'r:e Council present voting aye, the Mayor dec3ar-~--
ed the motion duly carried and it tiaras so ordered.
It ~n~~as moved by Councilman Lake and seconded. by Councilman I~~Tc-
ivieekin that the meeting adjourn to July 15, 1941, at `7:30 P. Tyr. All mem-
bers of the Council voting a.ye, the Ivlayor declared tr~e motion duly carried.
