Mayor 1'~ieyer in the chair. Councilmen Christensen, ~irrur:erman, i;+ici~;Ieekin and Trleyer answered the• roll call. Councilman Lake was absent. It was moved by Councilman `Lymmerrnan arld seconded by Councilman Christen- sen that the further reading of said Ordinance be waived. The City Clerk submitted his Annual statement of Receipts and Disburserr~ents showing, fund balances for fiscal year beginning July 1, 1940 and ending; June 30, 1941. Thereupo~ it was moved by Councilman T~cPJieekin and seconded by Council:nar_ ~hratea~ ~~'iat said statement be accepted and ordered filed. All members of the Crunch present voting aye, .the Mayor declared the motion duly carried. IVlayor I~~ieyer stated that there is need of an appointee on the Civilian Defense, Board for the County of Los Angeles from the City Coun- cil. It was moved by Councilman T~~cl~2eekin and seconded by Councilman Zimmerman that Councilman Christensen ire appointed as a member to rep- resent the City Council. All members of the Council present voting aye, the Nlayor declared the motion duly carried and it was so ordered. It was moved by Councilman Christensen and seconded by Council- man Zimmerman that the City Clerk be instructed to advertise for bids for the purchase of a new car, two-door sedan for use by the Building Depart- ment. All members of the Council present voting aye, the Ia'Iayor declared the motian duly carried. It was moved by Councilman Zimmerman and seconded by Councilman T~IcTJleekin that the rneeting adjourn to September 2, 1941, at 7:30 P.TdI.
