ADJOURNED REGULAR IyiEETING NCVEI~~IBER 27, 1941
The City Council of the City of Lynwood met ir. an ad,~ourned
regular session, in the Council Chamber of the City Hall, 11331 Plaza
Street, on above date, a.t 1:45 P.M.
T~nayor TJieyer in the chair.
Councilmen Lake, McTv?eekin and Meyer answered the roll call.
Councilmen Christensen and Zimrnerma.n were absent.
A Grant Deed covering a portion of 0. To~Arer Tract wherein the
City of Lynwood proposes to deed said parcel to the Lynwood Elementary
School District, was presented.
Thereupon RESOLUTION N0. 1379, entitled: "A RESOLUTION OF THE
CZTY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNN+'!OOD, CALIFORNIA RESCINDING AND REPEALING
RESOLUTION N0.-1280, AND SELLING A SA~IALL, IRREGULAR TRACT OF REAL ESTATE,
AND AUTHORIZING THE EXEGUTICN OF DEED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK THERE
FOR,~~ was read. It was moved by Councilman McTvieekin and seconded by
Councilman Lake that said Resolution No. 1379 be adopted.

Ayes : Councilmen Lake, Tv~?eT~.eekir. and Peeyer.
Noes: None.
Absent: Councilmen Christensen. and Zimmerman.
An application was received from Adrian Le~nris Wood, applying
for position as Junior Engineer of the City of Lynwood.
Letters of reference were also received from H. H. Cremeens,
and A. H. Bond of Bank of America regarding his character and ability.
A communication was received from Acting City Engineer John
A. Blain, recommending the employment of ~Ir. ~"ood at a salary of X165.00
a;s draftsman, stating that he has been Vrorkirg• for the City tersporarily
for some time :rnd ris work has been found satisfactory.
It was moved by Gouncilman Lake and seeended by Councilman Tylc-
T,ieekin that the recorrimendation of Engineer Blain be accepted and that
PrTr. Adrian L. Wood. be employed a.s draftsman for the City of Lynaiood at
a salary of X165.00 per month.

Noes: None.
Absent: Councilmen .Christensen and Zimmerman.
A demand in the amount of 300.00 drawn on the General Fund,
and payable to the Junior Chamber of Commerce, was submitted. It was
moved by Councilman Lake and seconded by Councilman Tu~cT~lieekin that said
demand be allowed and a warrant be drawn on the Gity Treasurer for said
amount.

Absent: Councilmen Christensen and Zimmerman.
1J.r. R. A. T~?offitt addressed th.e Council to the effect that he
attended a meeting of the U. S. Government at Bellflower ir. connection
with housing needs for defense workers in this area, and that they are
going to rna.ke a survey of needs in this area, stating that they are de-
sirous that a permanent member be appointed to act on this committee,
suggesting that some member of the Council be appointed to attend. •
I~~Iayar Taeyer appointed Gouncilman Lake as a member to represent
the City of Lyn~rood on said committee.
It was moved by Councilman Lake and seconded by Councilman Mc-
Itiieekin that the meeting ad,~ourn to December 2, 1941, at 7:30 P. M. All
members of t'r~e Council present voting aye, the I~iayor declared the motion
?uly carried, and it Urns so ordered.
