ADJOURNED REGULAR idEETING DECEMBER 18, 1941
The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in an adjourned
regular session, in the Council Chamber of the City Hall, 11331 Plaza
Street, on above date, at 1:30 P.M.
Mayor Meyer in the chair.
Councilmen Lake, Zimmerman, McMeekin and Meyer answered the
roll call. '
Councilman Christensen was absent.
A communication was received from City Attorney Ruby, explain-
ing the effect of a proposed Ordinance in epnneetion with National De-
fense regulating air raid alarms and blackouts, said proposed ordinance
being attached to his letter.
Thereupon an Ordinance, entitled: MAn Ordinance of the City
~,,.,, of Lynwood, California, relating to emergency defense and air raid pre-
cautions", was introdue~ed and read for the first time. It was moved
by Councilman McMeekin and secon~ted by Councilman Lake that said Ordin-
ance be accepted as read the first time and pass to the second reading.
Roll Call:
Ayes: Councilmen Lake, Zimmerman, McMeekin and Meyer.
Noes: None.
Absent: Councilman Christensen.
Chief of Police Miller addressed the Council regarding need
of insignias for Wardens volunteers for Civilian Defense, to the effect
that it now developer that the Government, U. S. will furnish such in-
signias without cost to Municipalities.
Chief of Police Miller also addressed the Council on the matter
of siren to the effect that he has not completed his investigation thereof.
Mr. R. A. Moffitt addressed the Council to the effect that it
now developea that is will be necessary for hi® to go to San Francisco
this evening in connection .with negotiations of purchase of tax deeds in
refunding the indebtedness of A. do I. Districts.
Thereupon it was moved by Council®an Lake and seconded by Coun-
cilman McMeekin that Mr. Moffitt, special counsel, be authorized to go
to Ban Francisco in eonnect~on with said matter on behalf of the City of
Lynwood with expenses paid by the City, unless it is found that Pacific
States Building & Loan Co. will pay for the expenses of the trip.

Ayes: Councilmen Lake, McMeekin, Zimmerman and Meyer.
Noes: None.
Absent: Councilman Christensen.
It was moved by Councilman McMeekin and eecor~ded by Councilman
-Lake that the meeting adjourn to December 24, 1941, at 8 A. M. All mem-
bers of the Council present. voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion
duly carried and it was so ordered.
