SPECIAL MEETING FEBRUARY 26, 1942
The City Council met at a Special Meeting in the Council Chamber
of the City Hall, 11331 Plaza Street, on above date, a'~ 1:45 P. M. , pur-
suant to call of Mayor Meyer. Said call reading as follows:
"February 25, 1942
"Dear Councilman:
"You are hereby notified to attend a Special meeting of the City
Council of the City of Lynwood to be held in the Council Chamber of the
City Hall, 11331 Plaza Street, on February 26, 1942, at 1:45 P. M.
"This meeting is called for the purpose of considering and adop-
ting a Resolution to accept offer of Pacific States Savings and uoan Com-
pany's relative to the sale of Tax Deed Lots in the.Refunding of Acquisi-
tion and Improvement Districts Nos. 17, 18, 20, 22, 23 and 28~, and Muni-
cipal Improvement District No.. 1 of the City of Lynwood, California.
"The City Council will also consider and take action on the mat-
" ter of establishing a Control Center iYr connection with Civilian Defense
.and appoint a Commander thereof.

were absent. A communication in the form of an Agreement wa8 received from
Ralph W. Evans, Building and Loan Commission of the State of California,
signed by Harley Nise, Special Deputy In the Matter of the purchase and
subsequent sale of Tax Deeded Lots and Acreage in Lynwood Acquisition a.nd
Improvement Districts Nos. 17, 18, 20, ~2, 23 and 28 AND MUNICIPAL IMPH.OVE-
MENT DISTRICT NUMBER 1, OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD~, said Agreement being signed
by Harley Hise, Special Deputy on February 24, 1942.
Thereupon RESOLUTION N0. 1415, entitled: "RESOLUTION ACCEPTING
PROPOSAL 0~ RALPH.1~. EVAN S, BUILDING AND LOAN COMMI3SI{~NER OF THE STATE
OF CALIFORNIA IN THE MATTER OF THE PURCHASE AND SUBSEQUENT SALE OF TAX
DEEDED LOTS AND ACREAGE IN LYNWOOD ACQUISITION AND IMPROVEMENT DISTRICTS
NOS. i7, 18, 20, 22, 23 AND 28, AND MUNICIPAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT N0. 1,
OF THE CITY OF LYN~l00D," was rasa. It was moved by Councilman McMeekin
and seconded by Councilman Lake that said Resolution No. 1415 be adopted.

Ayes: Councilman Lake, McMeekin and Meyer.
Noes: None.
Absent: Councilmen Christensen and Zimmerman.
lESOLUTION N0. 14I6, entitled: "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUN-
CIL IN THE CITY OF LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING CP7NTRi~L CONTROL OF-
FICE FOR CIVILIAN DEFENSE SERVICES AND APPOINTING A COMMANDER OF THE
CIVILIAN DEFENSE SERVICES," was read.
It~was moved by Councilman McMeekin and seconded by Cou Heilman
Lake that said Resolut_on No. 1416 be adopted.
Roll Call :
Ayes: Councilmen Lake, McMeekin and Meyer.
Noes: None.
Absent: Councilmen Christensen and Zimmerman.
It was moved by Councilman McMeekin and seconded by Councilman
Lake that Special Counsel Moffitt be authorized to contract f or extra
! charge for publishing additional co~?ies to include City ad for sale of
tax deeded Lots now being published in the Lynwood Press and to cost ap-
proximately ~I5.00.

Ayes: Councilmen Lake, McMeekin and Meyer.
Noes: None.
Absent: Councilmen Christensen and Zimmerman.
It was moved by councilman Lake and seconded by.Councilman~Me-
Meekin that the meeting adjourn to March 3, 1942, at 7:30 P. M. All mem-
bers of the Councilpresent voting aye. the Mayor declared the lotion duly
carried.
