The Cit3T Council of the City of L~~nwood met in an ad.,journed re-
gular session, in tr-ie Council Chamber of the City Hall, 11331 Plaza Street,
on above date, at 1 p.m.
In tree absence of the i~iayor, the meeting ana>=: called to order by
the City .Clerk and upon roll call it showed the following; present:
Councilmen Christensen, McMeekin and Zimmerman.
Councilmen Meyer a,nd Lake were absent. It was moved by Coun-
cilman Chr~.~tensen and seconded` by Coi~nelman .Bdc~eekin'..that Councilman
Zimmerman act as`:Mayor_protem. .. All members of the (Council present
voting aye, the City Clerk declared the motion duly carried a.nd it was so
ordered.
A communication was received from Fire Chief ]B. Vtr. LewiG stating
that on March 22, 1942 he appointed a Mgr. Earl Vernon Yolton of 11`701 Car-
ess St. as fireman, recommend_in~ tr;at he be employed at a salary of X130.00
per month.
The rare Chief addressed the Council on the matter, stating that
T~ir. Yolton has one dependent besides his wife so'will not be subject to
draft at a.n early date .
Thereupon it was moved by councilman Christensen and seconded
by Councilman P+~ei~leekin that the acts of Fire Chief Lewis be ratified amd
that Per. Ear1.V. Yolton be employed as r'ireman at a salary of $130.00 per
month.

Noes: None.
Absent: Councilmen i~ieyer and Lake.

Commissioner of the State of California consenting to the cancellation on
P~nrch 23, 194 by the legis3a,tive body of the City of Lynz~~ood. of the ass-
e~e~en'ts le ~ led for the payment of indebted_ness'.n~~:conneetion with the
ref'und_ing of Lyn~~.rood_ Acquisition and_ Improvement Districts Nos;. 17, 18, 20,
22,, 23 and 28, and Lyn«rood A~iunicir,^.~. Improvement Tistrict No. 1, as pro-
vided in the Relief and re~.d~ustment oi' Specisi: As~essi~ents; Act of 193SSt~rt-s
p 1250, in order to carry out the elan of refunding° and tax reduction
pursuant to the provisions of the so-called "tax liquidation agreement."
There being no objection, said communication under date of ~4arch 23, 1942
tiaras ordered filed.
A communication v~ras received from Harle;r rise, Building a.nd Loan
Commissioner of the State of California offering to purchase the properties
included on tr~eir Agreement dated February 2=., 1942, and accepted by the
Sity of Lynwood on February 2C, 1942, for amounts equal to the minimum
prices paid the County of Los Angeles therefor, togatrier with costs of vale
incurred by tie City of Lvn`~loo~t, providing said prices are not in excess
of the amounts mentioned in the application to the County of Los Angeles
for the sale of said properties to the City of Lyn~~~ood.
Thereupon RESOLUTION ~~`0. 1425, entitled: "RESOLUTION ACCEPTING
