LaPorte Also attending: Mrs. Kirton and Mr. Anderson. Mayor Dodson called the meeting to order and gave the floor to Mr. Anderson of Brockway, Weber & Brockway. Mr. Anderson reported that contracts with Crabtree Construction Co. and J. P. Carroll, Inc. had been prepared, signed by the contractors, and reviewed and approved by the Town Attorney, Mr. Lilienthal. He presented the contracts to the Commission for approval and signature. Mr. Anderson noted that the Town had not given official approval of engaging J. P. Carroll, Inc. to install the clorinator. Mr. Hart moved that the Town engage J. P. Carroll, Inc. to do this work at the price quoted in his proposal, $1,443.00, and the the Town execute the contracts with Crabtree Construction Co. and J. P. Carroll, Inc. Motion seconded and passed unanimously. Mr. Anderson read his report on the drainage problem at Oleander j ✓ Way and Banyan Road. This report outlined two alternative solu- tions to this problem. This report is attached as part of these minutes. Mr. LaPorte moved that we send copies of the report to all property owners in the drainage area and invite them to attend the next regular meeting, April it S, 1961, of the commission to discuss this problem. Motion seconded and passed unanimously. A complaint from Mr. Harry Gropp was read regarding the spraying of lawns in the Town. Town Clerk William Gwynn stated that he had talked with Mr. Gropp and told him the Town was in the process now of drawing up an ordinance to regulate spraying in the Town. A letter from the Florida Inland Navigation District was read regarding dredging of the intra -coastal waterway sometime in the next twelve months. Town Clerk was instructed to write them requesting that this dredging be done in the summer between May and November. M I, There was a general discussion of Fire Protection for the Town. Mayor Dodson appointed Mr. Hoyle to work with Mr. Koch on the matter. The Commission authorized payment of $600.00 to Brockway, Weber & Brockway for services in connection with water improvements. We also attach approximate areas for lots included in this drainage area to— gether with estimated assessments against these lots for providing the referenced improvements. You will note that two estimates have been provided. The first identified as Item A includes catch basins and pipes along Oleander Way near Banyan Road, intersection, and also along Banyan Road, This item also includes regrading and repaving approximately 330 lineal feet of Oleander Way southward from the Banyan Road intersection, This regrading and repaving of Oleander Way will be necessary in order to obtain proper drainage along Oleander Way north to the Banyan Road intersection. The second estimate, Item B, does not include the regrading and repaving along Oleander Way, but is otherwise the same as Item A. Estimated costs and assessments are also included. Please advise this office at such time as we may be of further service to you.
