The approval of minutes of previous meeting was ~~'i spensed with.
The P4~Iayor a.nncunced that the nt~rpose of the meeting was to
award the cantr=pct for t'~e installation of seer==rs in the southeast a.nd
northeast part of Lynwood.
City Attorney Ruby su'or_iitted a report in vrritin~• regarding
the sure-ty bond of George P~liller, w'r_o subr:iitte~. tree low bid in connec-
tion vrith "Lynwood Sew~?:~~ District R1o. 3", being issued by the .spited
Pacific Insu~~~ance of Seattle, ~~'ashington, in the sum of ~1?, x'00, stat-
ing that said com.;zany is a. non-board corripany, but is on the approved
list for writinG suret~,~ bonds required in cases of Federal SF~'ork; that
they are autriorized to ?x~rite surety bon:l~ by the State of California,
finding that in his opir_ion the Company is ^~ trorouz=hly reliable and
legally and fi nancia.lly well aual~of ed to tv~ite contract bonds. City
R~torney also stated trat he 'read/riac~e a proper check on the bidder,
George Iviiller, but so far as he ras been able to inform hir_lcelf, he
is a contractor of good stand.ing_ and good repute; also that the fact
trat a reliable bonding company writes his contract bonds is along a
ve~,y appreciably reoommendation.
Street Superintendent Blain also reported that he had inquired
with the Counts= of Los Angeles and U. S. Engineering service regarding
the rep ia';ility of the contractor and that rye finds that he has a ~aod
reputation with them, y
Thereupon RESOLUTION N0. 182, entitled: "IN THE P~iATiER OF
