ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 15,.946
The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in an ad-
~journed°regular session in the Council Chamber oP the City Hall,
11331 Plaza Street, on above date at 8 P. M. -
- Mayor Wiggins in the chair. -
Councilmen Shrock, Willard and Wiggins answered the
roll call.
Councilmen Looney and Meyer were absent.
It was moved by Councilman Willard and seconded by-
Councilman Shrock that the minutes of the previous regular meeting
of February 5, 1946 be approved as written. All members of the
City Council present voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion
duly carried.
The hour of 8 P. M. having arrived, said hour being the
time fixed for hearing any and all objections or protests in con-
nection with the abatement of dry and drying weeds within the City
of Lynwood, as per notices posted as required by law.
The Mayor announced that this was the time and place
for hearing any and all such objections and protests, inquiring
if there was any one present who desires to~protest in connection
with said matter.
Mr. Thompson addressed the Council regarding inadequate
cleaning in his vicinity of 108th Street last year, requesting
that more care be taken this year. u
Mr. Thompson also spoke'about milk trucks that are storing
their trucks on Century Boulevard; also thanking the Council for
cleaning up the streets in the district.
The City Clerk stated that no written objections or pro-
tests had been f11ed.
Thereupon RESOLUTION N0. 1906, entitled: uA RESOLUTION
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNV~t00L~, CALIFORNIA, PASSING
UPON OBJECTIONS, AND DIRECTING THE STREET SUPERINTENDENT TO ABATE
THE WEED NUISANCE THAT EXISTS ON VACANT LO`I`S IN THE CITY OF LYN_
WOOD," was read. Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Willard
and seconded by Councilman Shrock that said Resolution No. 1906 be
adopted.
Roll Call
Ayes: Councilmen Shrock, Willard and Wiggins.
Noes: None.
Absent: Councilmen Looney and Meyer.
ORDINANCE N0. 422, entitled "AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISH_
ING ZONES WITHIN THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AND ESTABLISHING CLASSI_
FICATIONS OF LAND USES AND REGULATING SUCH LAND USES IN SUCH
ZONES: REGULATING THE HEIGHT OF BUILDINGS, AND OPEN SPACES FOR
LIGHT AND VENTILATION# ADOPTING A MAP OF SAID ZONES, DEFINING
THE TERMS USED IN SAID ORDINANCE; PROVIDING FOR THE ADJUSTMENT
AMENDMENT AND ENFORCEMENT THEREOF; PRESCRIBING PENALTIES FOR ITS
VIOLATION" was read for the second time by caption. Inasmuch
as the City Council had heretofore been furnished copies of said
Ordinance for study, it was moved by Councilman Shroek and
seconded by Councilman Willard that the further reading of said
Ordinance be waived. All members of the City Council .present
voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion duly carried.
Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Shroek and seconded
by Councilman Willard that said Ordinance beadopted as read the
second time, finally pass and be published as required by law.

Ayes: Councilmen Shrock, Willard and Wiggins.
Noes: None.

City Manager Shannon addressed the Council requesting
permission to attend the City Managers' conference at Sacramento
on February 22 and 23. Thereupon it was moved by Councilman
Shrock and seconded by Councilman Willard that Mr. Shannon be
granted permission to attend said conference and that the City
pay for the expense in connection with such attendance.

Absent: Councilmen Looney and Meyer.

City Manager Shannon addressed the Council stating that
he is planning on going to Hueneme to check into some Government
equipment that is to be sold, stating that the City is interested
in purchasing a tractor, therefore requesting permission to make
such purchase if the price is .right.
Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Willard and Seconded
by Councilman Shrock that the City Manager be authorized-to iSSUe
a purchase order far a tractor if he can secure a good deal for
the City,

Noes: None. -
Absent: Couneilm~en Looney and Myer.
It was moved by Councilman Willard and seconded by Council-
man Shrock that the meeting adjourn to February 19, 1946, at 7:30
P-. M. All .members of the City Council present voting aye, the
-Mayor declared the motion duly carried.
