REGULAR MEETI1dG SEPTER2BER 17, 1946
The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in a regular
session in the Council Chamber of the City Hall, 11331 Plaza Street,
on Above date at 7:30 P. M.
Mayor Doty in the chair.
Councilmen Doty, Williams, and Shroc~C answered the roll
call.
Councilmen Jensen and Wigginss were absent.
2t was moved by Councilman Williams, seconded by Council-
man Shrock', that the minutes of the previous adjourned regular meet-
ing of September 5 be approved as written. All members of the
Council present voting aye, the t~~ayor declared the motion duly carried.
A co;nmunication was read from the National Citizens
Political Action Cotlmittee, requesting that the Council declare the
week of September 19 to 2n as "Registration Week", the Mayor issuing ""~`
an appropriate proclamation. It was moved by Councilman Shrock,
seconded by Councilman Williams, that said week be declared as
"Registration Weeki' and that the Mayor should so proclaim. All
members of the Council present voting aye, the Mayor declared the
motion duly carried.
A Grant Deed was presented, signed by James H. Liner and
Louise S. Liner, whereby they Convey their interest in and to the
Northerly 5' of the Westerly 73.40' of Lot No. 14, Tract 5103, to
the City of Lynwood. It was moved by Councilman Shroek, seconded
by Councilman Williams, that said deed be accepted and that the City
Clerk be instructed to cause said instrument to be recorded at the
office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County.
Roll Call:
Ayes: Councilmen Doty, Shrock, and Williams.
Noes : None.
Absent: Councilmen Jensen and Wiggins.
Whereupon, Resolution No. 2000, entitled, "RESOLUTION
SETTING UP STREETS TO BE PAVED OUT OF THE COUNTY ALLOCATION OF THE
GASOLIiVE TAX FUNDS TO THE CITY OF LYNWOOD FOR Ir~PROVING STREETS OF
LOCAL INTEREST," was read. It was moved by Councilman Williams,
seconded by Councilman Shroek, that said Resolution be adopted.
Roll Call:
Ayes: Councilmen Doty, Shroek, and Williams.
Noes: None.
Absent: Councilmen Jensen and Wiggins.
The Treasurer addressed the Council as to the dissolution
of the Lynwood Assessment Relief Corporation and as to the improve-
ment proceedings now being undertaken in the Licensed Surveyor's
Tract. He explained that the bonds in the proposed new improvement
would be much more marketable if the City ~a~ould agree to purchase
the bonds on eight of the lots in said tract that have delinquent
bonds against them at present.
Whereupon, it was moved by Councilman Shroek, seconded by
Councilman Williams, that the City `t'reasurer be authorized to commit
the City to the purchase of the proposed bonds on Lots Nos. 148 to
153 inclusive and Lots Nos. 109 and 110 in said tract, at the rate
of 90¢ on the dollar.

Ayes: Councilmen Doty, Shrock, and V'dilliams.
Noes: None.
Absent: Councilmen Jensen and 'ddiggins.
There was further discussion wherein it was pointed out
that even with this help the bonds might .not be issued because of
the district's nearness to maximum bonded indebtedness.
It was moved by Councilman Shroek, seconded by Councilman
Williams, that the meeting adjourn to September 20, 1946 at 7:30
P. M. All members of the City Council present voting aye, the Mayor
declared the motion duly carried.
