Councilmen Doty, Jensen, '."liarins, and "r`Jillia.ms answered the roll call. ~ ' Councilman Shrock was absent.- . It was moved by Councilman '.~lilliarns, seconded by Council man Jensen, that the minutes of the previous regular meeting of November 4 'rye approved as written. All members of the City Council present voting aye, the P.Zayor declared the notion duly carried. A communication requestin~• refunel of weed assessment- on- Lots 5o and 5'?, Tract 545 ~, by I,?r. a.nd I:°.rs. Fred Robertson was pre- ;`~"~+ rented. Refund ha.d been apy~roved by _Tr. "lallace, superintendent of weed abatement, stating, it ha-d been a~n error in the lot checking. It v!as mooed by Councilman ~Wi~•~ ins, seconded by '.^,ouncilman Jensen, that refund of X3.00 per lot be approved. .Roll Call: .Ayes: Councilmen Doty, Jensen,~'Wig~ins, and Williams. .hTOes: None. Absent: Councilman Shrock, A communication from the Lynwood Chamber of Commerce was presented, requesting that the City install Christmas decorations that the merchants nave purchased. The I,~ana.ger reported on the a.pproxinate cost, stating it wo~zld be approximately X15.00 per ~oole for installation and. maintenance. . The ?'.'tanager reported on the half-ton truck bid received at the last meetin~:•, ;>s advertised. He pointed out that even though there wa;s only one bid, this same request had been advertised three times and it was his opinion tria.t the City should accept Southland P.4otors, Inc. bid as per specifications at a cost of °x'1142.68. It was moved by CounciL:~an Williams, seconded by Councilman Jensen, that said Resolution be adopted. ""~" Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen. Doty, Jensen, `Jig~,•ins, and ~~+illiarns. P?oes: None. Absent: Councilman Shrock. The hour of 8:00 P. yd, having arrived., said hour being the time fixed for receiving any and_ all bids for furnishing a crane as per specifications and notice published as required by law. The h2ayor announced tra.t this was the time and place for receiving bids, inquiring if' there was anyone present who wished to submit a bid. There was no response. The Clerk stated that two bids ha.d been filed with him. It was moved by Councilman ~Wig~ins, seconded by Council- man ;Williams, that the bids be ~~ublicly opened, examined, and declared. All members of the City Council present votin~~ aye, the ~.Zayor declared. the motion duly carried. The following bids were received: i ~~~ Industrial Equipment Co. used crane as per specifications, X3069.00 Smith Boath Usher, used crane as per specifications. No bid. After some discussion whereir, the P-tanager reported that the Superintendent of the 'Water Dex~a.rtment and the mechanic have inspected this one crane and approved its mechanical condition., it was moved by Councilman 'Nilliams, seconded by Councilman Jensen, that said bid be accepted. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Doty, Jensen, ~~~i~-~;ins, and 'Nilliams. Noes: ArOne. _ Absent: Councilman Shrock. ORDINANCE NO. 441, entitled, "liNORDI."ANCE OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD Ais~iENDIiVG SECTION 3 AND--SECTIGIv 14 OF ORDIf~ANCE NO. 440 AATD ~,,., ADDITJG THERETO SECTION 21z," was read by caption for the second reading. It was moved by Councilrnari Williams, seconded by Councilman Wiggins, that furtrier reading be waived. Roll Call: - Ayes: Councilmen Doty, Jensen, Wiggins, and Williams. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Shrock. Thereupon, it was moved by Councilman ~*rig~ ins, secanded by Councilman Williams, that said Ordinance No. 441 be adopted as read the second time, finally pass and be publiGhed as required by law. ' The Clerk presented two publish official bonds in the amount of ~p1,000.00 each for Ellen Salmon and John B. Parsons.
