HomeMy Public PortalAboutM 1947-02-19 - CCss~~ ~+Z7 ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 19, 1947 The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in an adjourned regular session in the City Hall, 11331 Plaza Street on above date at 7:00 P. hi. Mayor Doty in the chair. Councilmen Doty, Jensen, Shrock, Wiggins, and Williams answered the roll call. The Mayor explained the purpose of the meeting, that being consideration of the bids that had been received on the Imperial Highway paving project. 'The Manager presented the Engineer's written report on analysis of the bids, comparing the costs with those which had been established previously on municipally accomplished projects. The report proved that the City could. make its improve- ments more reasonably than could be done by contract. ~Nhereupon, it was moved by~Councilman Shrock, seconded by Councilman Jensen, that the bids received be rejected. All members of the City Council voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion duly carried. It was further moved by Councilman Wiggins, seconded by Councilman Shrock, that the City proceed with the Imperial High- way project with City forces and add to the street crew at the discretion of the Engineer in order that the patch work program will be maintained at the present level. All members of the City Council present voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion duly carried. There was a discussion as to the interim period wherein there would be no City Manager. Whereupon, it was moved by Coun- cilman Wiggins, seconded by Councilman Shrock, that the City Clerk be Acting City Manager until a successor is appointed. All members of the City Council voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion duly c~arr'ied. The Manager requested one week's vacation, said vacation period having been earned. After discussion, it was moved by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman Jensen, that the Manager be granted one week unused vacation commencing March 1, 1947. All members of the City Council voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion duly carried. It was moved by Councilman Shrock, seconded by Council- man Jensen, that the meeting be adjourned.
