Tyler finally heard back from the City Attorney last night and he has decided that we will only need to get a building permit — not a variance for the antenna modification. Even though he was not able to locate the original approval, his discussion with the property owner confirmed our assertion that proper zoning was originally approved. Great work, Tyler! At each of three sectors, new antennas will be added to the existing antennas according to the attached specifications. The two outside antennas will remain or moved further to the outside as needed. The addition of the new center antennas to each of the three sectors will not hinder or reduce the structural integrity of -�, the building. The design wind load was based on 130 mph wind. To support the wind loads on each sector the following instructions should be followed. At the Alpha Sector, ballast should be added to the sled mount to achieve the wind resistance. On each side (front and back) of the sled, 43 solid concrete blocks (2 "x7 "x12 ") shall be placed in the ballast tray of the sled. This is a total count, utilizing the blocks that are presently in place. Additionally, the horizontal member of the mount shall be strengthened as shown in the attached details. At the Beta Sector, ballast should be added to the sled mount to achieve the wind resistance. On each side (front and back) of the sled, 63 solid concrete blocks (2 "x7 "x12 ") shall be placed in the ballast tray of the sled. This is a total count, utilizing the blocks that are presently in place. Additionally, the horizontal member of the mount shall be strengthened as shown in the attached details. At the Gamma Sector, erect the new antenna using the same methods as previously used but with slight modifications. Use a 3/4" diameter bolt for the top bolt into the existing flag support structure. Use pipe mounts same as used on other antennas at this sector. See attached photo. For all structural work, all materials shall be galvanized and any surfaces which are modified for hole drilling, etc, shall be touched up and protected with zinc rich galvanizing paint.
