The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in an adjourned
session in the City Hall, 11331 Plaza Street, on above date
P. M.
Mayor Doty in the chair. _
Councilmen Doty, Jensen, Shrock, Willard, and Williams
the roll call.
After discussion as to the pureha.se oP Lot 441, Tract
was moved by Councilman Willard and seconded by Councilman
that the City Clerk be authorized and instructed to enter
escrow for and on behalf of the City to purchase said lot
to Agreement of Sale approved by the City Attorney.
Roll Call:
Ayes: Councilmen Doty, Jensen, Shrock, Willard, and
Williams.
Noes: None.
The Manager reported on Recreation Director Civil Service
examination and pointed out that the recent examination failed to
provide an eligible list, requesting that authorization be. granted
to call for an examination for said position at an adjusted base
pay, such adjustment in base pay to be X260.00 for the first six
months, X270.00 for the second six months, and X280.00 after one
year, plus cost of living index.
It was moved by Councilman Willard, seconded by Council-
man Williams, that said authorization be approved as presented and
that the Manager be allowed to call for a new examination at the
adjusted salary.
Roll Call:
Ayes: Councilmen Doty, Jensen, Shrock, Willard, and
Williams.
Noes: None.
Councilman Williams discussed the need for an eligible
list for Recreation Director's Assistant. After considerable dis-
cussion wherein it was pointed out that it would be well to have a
list established before an actual need, it was moved by Councilman
Willard, seconded by Councilman Williams, that the manager be in-
structed to contact the Recreation and Personnel Commissions and
discuss with them the need of said classification. All members of
the City Council voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion duly
carried .
The Manager reported on bids for pipe that were received
at the last meeting. He recor:~mended as per Engineer's analysis,
that United States Pipe and Foundry Company's bid be accepted as the
lowest and best. It was moved. by Councilman Shrock, seconded by
Councilman Willard, that said bid be accepted.

Noes: None.
The Manager reported on the insurance bid as received
at the last meeting to supply the city erith comprehensive property
damage and public liability insurance. After some discussion, it
was moved by Councilman Jensen and seconded by Councilman Willard,
that the bid of Insurance Agents' Association of the City of
Lynwood be accepted as per Schedule #2, subject to policy inspec-
tion and approval by the City Attorney.
Roll Call:
Ayes: Councilmen Doty, Jensen, Shrock, Willard, and
Williams.
Noes: None.
It was moved by Councilman Williams, seconded by Council-
man Shrock, that the meeting be adjourned. All members of the City
Council voting aye, the Mayor declared the. motion duly carried.
