vahereupon, Tvir. Frank Lee, 3~~47 Seminole, addressed the
Council in regard to his previous request for variance to allow con-
version of attached marage to a sleeping; room. ,The I'~,~Iayor asked the
Clerz~ to read the report of the Building Inspector requested at the
previous meeting of the Council.
The Building Inspector's report stated the background of
the case and the reason for his inability to ~is5ue a permit for said
alteration because of the requirement in Ordinance No. 422 that all
dwellings be provided with garage facilities.
Councilman '~~~'illiams stated him opinion of the necessity of
upholding City ordinances and that there are regularly consti-toted
provisions to be follo~~~ed in order to grant variances under Ordinance
No. 422,.

adc~.re s s the Council .
`~~hereupon, T~Zr. Stoner of the Industrial '~'lorkshon for the
Blind. addressed. the Council in regard. to P:?r. Bob Patchen, a blind-
person desirous of doing house to house sales work in th.e City of
Lyn~uood., license free. The ;~~ayor stated he had been inforrled that
there were provisions in the license ordinance t~ia.t provided for
waiving of fees in such instances.
~.Tr. Stoner thanked the Council and stated that he is always
glad of an opportunity to make public .the work of the Industrial ~taork-
shop that is sponsored by the State of California.

area and that negotiations be completed for the acquisition of a strip
of land approximately 30 feet t~~ide lying northerly of the northerly
boundary of the park, at the price of u~1178.00, all as per Engineer's
elan on file in the office of the City Clerk.

the new fire station under construction, stating that the Fire Chief

as well as provide training area and room for hose washing.
