letter to the Commissioners from Mr. Smitzes, City Manager of
Boynton Beach. This letter outlined the topics which were
agreed upon relating to fire protection for the Town of Gulf
Stream. This letter is attached and becomes a part of these
minutes. There was a general discussion of the terms offered
by the City of Boynton Beach. A motion was then made, seconded
and passed unanimously that the Town accept the terms for fire
protection as offered in this letter. The Town Clerk was
instructed to so notify the City Manager of Boynton Beach in
writing and ask that they draw up a contract for approval by
our Town Attorney.
Mr. R. C. Reed was given the floor to discuss his plans for
development of the tract of land west of the waterway which
he has recently purchased from the Frelinghuysen estate. Mr.
Reed presented each Commissioner with a copy of the proposed
plot of the area. There was a discussion of streets, drainage,
water service, etc. to be included in the area. Mr. Reed
was advised by the Commission that when he submits detailed
plans and specifications for these improvements, the Town
could then take official action. Mr. Reed was further
instructed to submit in writing a request that the Town
furnish water to the area. The Commission then agreed to
discuss this matter at the next regular meeting.
