A RESOLUTION REGARDING A DANGEROUS BUILDING
BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa:
WHEREAS, a hearing was requested by Todd Biles, owner of the property at 141 East 3'd Street,
Tiffin, IA, and the same was held at this meeting and evidence produced and considered by the
City Council,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the owner of said property, Todd Biles, is hereby
directed and ordered to abate the nuisance consisting of a dilapidated garage by repairing it so
that it is secure, no longer a unsafe and unsightly within 90 days after the service of this Order
upon said owner or agent; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Building Official be and is hereby directed to serve a copy
of this Order upon the said property owner named above; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in the event the owner fails to abate the said nuisance within
the time prescribed above, then and in that event the City will abate the said nuisance and the cost
will be assessed against the property and/or owner, Todd. Biles, at 141 East 3'd Street, as the law
shall provide.
On the 1.6" day of May, 2023, at a Special Meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa,
Councilperson Schnedler introduced RESOLUTION NO. 2023-029, A RESOLUTION
REGARDING A DANGEROUS BUILDING and made a motion for approval. Motion was
seconded by Councilperson Havens.
Ayes: Havens, Olney, Schnedler, Limkemann.
Nays: None.
Absent: Orris
Whereupon four Council members were present and voted approval and Mayor Berner declared
that RESOLUTION NO. 2023-029, A RESOLUTION REGARDING A DANGEROUS
BUILDING to be adopted and signified his approval of the same by affixing his signature thereto.
Passed by the City Council on the 16'1' day of May, 2023.
