It Brae moved by ~c~;arr~~~Ln~an sneddon, seconded by Councilman Stroh that said ~~~~~a~;~~.~rt~icrn be adopted. ~~ The Manager reported, as requested, on proposed new g<:~rage facilities. After discussion it was moved by Council- 2~2u.T~. Stroh, seconded by Councilman Sneddon that the report as o~ f°'i.le be concurred in and the Manager directed to proceed immediately with said improvement. All members voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion duly carried. The Manager reported that Ray Russell, Garage Mech- araicr is serving as chief mechanic since the resignation of La~~~rence 0, Manuel and recommended that he be allowed the X5.00 +~ver®allowanee for duties as chief mechanic effective Oetobe~~ 16th, 1950. It was moved by Councilman Daetweiler, secoaacle~. by Councilman Stroh that said recommendation be app~aoved. All members present voting aye, the Mayor declar- ed the motion duly carried. Dallas Casey, representing the Citizensa Community Conference, addressed the Council informing them of the ;yFout~i effort in conducting a conference of study on the pro- pGSitic~rAs to be voted on November 7th, 1950, explaining that t=.:ae meeting of October 23rd would be held at the S~oodrow Wilson Auditorium at 7130 p.m. owing to the increase f,n attendance. He stated that said meeting would start °~tith ~'roposition No. 6 and requested that the Council, if goss°~.'~le, attend. He also requested that a proclamation prociaiming November 6th, 1950 °"Citizenshi DayD° in the~City of L~°nwood be made, and invited the Council to attend and participate in a program designed to point out the respon- si'r-s.~iit~ies and benefits of citizenship. There was dis- cu~~xon wherein the Mayor proclaimed November 6th as C&ti.zenehip ~a~ in Lynwogds.and urged-.all citizens to attend ar.d participate in the cor;~munity conference. The Mayor crq:~ns~ented it was a pleasure to aid in any tPray in an effort s~~ worthy.
