After studys the Engineer reported that the bid was within the limitation prescribed by the 1911 Act, and recommended that said bid be e.ccepted and contract awarded. Whereuponx Resolution No, 2346 entitleda "IN THE MATTER OF THE IMPROVEMENT OF AGNES AVENUE BY THE C©NSTRUCTION OF CEMENT CONCRETE Ct1RB8 AND CEMENT CONCRETE GUTTERS, RESOLUTION OF AWARD OF CONTRACT," was presented. There followed e discussion on the background of the Yiome occupation procedureo The Clerk presented a Supe~~i.o~: Court Summons served upon the City June 27ths 1951 at 9030 a.m. in the matter of Per Haleen °'""^ versus City of Lynwood and Charles Hall, Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Moffitt, seconded by Councilman Sneddon that said matter be referred to the City Attorney with power to act. All mer~iaers present voting aye, the Mayor desls.red the motion duly carried. Councilman Bruner `brought yap the matter of the expired term of Recreation Commissioner W® E, Baling, stating that Mr. Baling has indicated his willingness to continue to serve. It was moved by Councilman Bruner, seconded by Councilman Sneddon that Mr, Saling'8 name be placed in nomination for reappointment to said commission. It was moved by Councilman Daetweilers seconded by Councilman Moffitt that nominations be slosedQ All members present voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion duly carrieds and Mr. Baling appointed Recreation Commissioner of the City of Lynwood for a full term. The Manager presented a request from the Edison Company for easement grant in order that they will be able to supply power to the new baseball diamond lights and change service lead to the Alameda Street well and storage tank. After discussion, it was moved by Councilman Moffitt, seconded by Councilman Daetweiler that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to execute paid ease® manta on behalf of the City of Lynwood to the Edison Company, Roll Callen Ayeso Councilmen? Absent a Norle~ The Manager reported. on the matter of tYae flag at the Community Center as brought up at txie previous meeting by Mr. Jesse Corning, recommending that the City accept the flag offered by Mr. Corni.o~ to be flown on special holidaya& inasmuch as the conventional size flag is available for daily use. After discussion, it was moved by Councilman Bruner, seconded by Councilman Moffitt that the City gratefully accept the flag offered by Mr. Corning, and that the City Clerk send a letter of appreciation to Mr. Corning and. request the battle history of the offered flag.
