HomeMy Public PortalAboutM 1953-10-20 - CC~~ REGULAR_MEETING OCTOBER 20, 19 The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in a regular session in the City Hall, 11331 Playa Street, on above date at 703o p.m. Mayor Willard in the chair, Councilmen Daetweiler, Sneddon, and Willard answered the roll call. Councilmen Bruner and Pearson were absent, It was moved by Councilman Sneddon, seconded by Cou:~~°~ilman Daetweiler, that the minutes of the previous regular meeting of October 6, 1953 and the special meeting of October 15~ 1953 be approved as written. All members present voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion duly carried. The Clerk presented a communication from Mr. Henry E.' Dunning, 3668 Virginia Avenue, wherein he protects the proposed substitution of bus service for the present rail passenger service to Los Angeles. It was moved. by Councilman Daetweiler, seconded by Councilman 9neddon9 that a letter be sent to Mr. Dunning by the City Manager. All members present voting; aye, the Mayor declared the motion duly carried.. The Clerk presented. A claim for damages filed. by Wesley Flynn, resulting from alleged false arrest. It was moved by Councilman Daet~,reiler, ^ecanded b,y Councilman Sneddon, that said claim be referred to the City Attorney. Th re t~ras a discussion wherein it was a~*reed that the pfa~r,. wn~ld proclaim Mond.a,y, October 26, 1953 as Press Day i~ caminendation of the achievements of members of the press, It~was regularly moved. by Councilman Daetweiler, seconded by Councilman Sneddon, that the demands presented at the meeting of October 20, 1953, having been regularly audited, are hereby allowed and Approved. and warrants ordered drawn ca+n the City Treasurer therefor in accordance with and to the payees named and. the funds indicated in the several d.emande hereby approved.
