Bruner, seconded by Councilman Pearson, that said authorization
be granted. All members voting syc, the M~.yor declared the
motion duly carried,
Councilman Pearson ~.sked that the City congratulate
the school for the fine fob of remodeling the old city hall.
It was mcved by Councilman Pearson, seconded by Councilman Bruner,
that a letter of commendation be addressed to the Unified School
District on the recent remodeling of the old City Hall building.
A11 members voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion duly
carried.
The hour of 8:00 p.m, having arrived, said rtaur being
the time fixed for receiving any and al ]. bids for furnishing ""'
the City with certain swimming p~;ol er~;~ipment, the Mayor in-
quired if there were any present wishing to submit bids. There
was no response.

Councilman Bruner, that said bias be publicly opened, examined,

the time fixed for continu~:d hearrir~,~ on the improvement of the
first alley northerly ~~° C,Hntury boulevard, extending easterly
from Harris Avenue, the Mayor inquired if there were any
present in regard to this matter, '.Phere was no response.
The Clerk stated that since the last hear3..ng sufficient
monies have been deposited in the tr°easury to the satisfaction
of the City Engineer, to ms.ke th,e .impx^hvement without proceeding
further under the Imt~rovement Act of 1911,
Thereupon, RESOLUTION N0. 2537 entitled "RESOLUTION
ABAND6NING THE PROPOSED'~IMPROVEMENT OF THE FIRST ALLEY NORTHERLY
OF CENTURY BOULEVARD EXTENDING EASTERLY FROM HARRIS AVENUE BY
THE CONSTRUCTION OF CONCRETE GUTTERS AND PLANT-MIXED PAVEMENT"
was presented. It was moved by Councilman Sneddon, secon ed by
Councilman Daetweiler, that said Resolution be adopted. ,.C,

The haur of B:OU p.m. having arrived, said hour being
the time fixed far hearing in the matter of the abatement of
weeds, the Mayor inquired if there were any present in regard •
to this matter,
Whereupon, Mrs.Watts, 3345 ~Tirginia, stated she owned
the parcel east of this :address and that they wished to clean
the weeds off the lot.

There was a discussion on the Recreation Commission's
request to proceed with furthez~ capital improvement in the City
Park. After discussion, it was moved by Councilman Sneddon,
seconded by Councilman Bruner, that the City Manager be directed
to prepare a report and recommendation on the request of the
Recreation Commission for future park development. All members
voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion duly carried,
It was regularly moved by Councilman Daetweiler,
seconded by Councilman Pearson, that the demands presented at
the meeting of March 2, 1954, having been regularly audited,
are hereby allowed and approved and warrants ordered, drawn on
the City Treasurer in acca.rdance with and to the payees named
and the funds indicated in the several demands hereby approved.
