which havE been approved. by the Mate Division of Highways for

~e City Manager presented. a report on the request
from the Lynwood-Compton Girl Scout Council for additional
:pace ~.n the Cit9y Park adjacent to their present facilities
w}~er~=in he stated that there have been many similar requests
f;~r bui.lding sines on park property ~!nd the G'3.ty has no surplus
~?roperf:;,y in the park area and recommended that said request be

denied.

The hour of 800 p.m. having arrived, said hour being

tion of the Midlands District, the Mayor inquired. if there were
any wishing t-o submit written protests to said. annexationo
There was ro response.
The Clerk stated that at approximately 4:00 p.m, this --
date, he had received 12 petitions representing 195 signatures
protesting the holding of" an election for the annexation of the
area known as th.e Midlands District.
Mr. Harry T. Shafer repre~~enting the Midlands Property
Owners Association, inquired if' any additional protests or
withdrawal. notices had been received. The Clerk stated. none
had been received..
Whereupon, it was moved by Councilman Pearson, seconded
