Pender, and. Willard. answered. the roll call, The Clerk presented a claim against the City of Lynwood """' by the State Compensation Insurance Fund for settlement of Mr. .Glen And.erson~s claim arising out of a hearing held before the Industrial Accident Commission. The Clerk further presented. the C~_ty Attorneyis report which recommended settlement of said claim. It was moved by Councilman Pearson, seconded by Council- man Willard, that the Council authorize the Mayor to execute said. compromise and. release form in the settlement of Mr~ Anderson~s claim before the Industrial Accident Commission. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Bruner, McMeekin, Pearson, Pender, and Willard.. Noes None. Absent: None ORDINANCE N0. 6~+3 entitled. "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD, IMPOSING A CITY SALES AND USE TAX; PROVIDING FOR THE PERFORMANCE BY THE STATE BOARD OF EQUALIZATION OF ALL FUNCTIONS INCIDENT TO THE ADMINISTRATION, OPERATION AND COLLECTION OF THE SALES AND USE TAX ,HEREBY IMPOSED; SUSPENDING THE PROVISIONS OF ORDINANCES NOS. x+84 AND 509 DURING SUCH TIME AS THIS ORDINANCE IS OPERATIVE; AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS THEREOF." was presented., It was moved. by Councilman Willard., seconded. by Councilman Pender, that further reading be waived. The Clerk presented a request for exempt license from the Rescue Army Ghurch and Industrial Department to solicit funds and to collect salvage in the City of Lynwood..
