ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 28, 1956
The City Council of the City of Lynwood. met in an
adjourned. regular session in the City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road.,
on above date at 9;00 a~m~

Willard. answered. the roll call,
The Clerk presented a claim against the City of Lynwood
"""' by the State Compensation Insurance Fund for settlement of Mr.
.Glen And.erson~s claim arising out of a hearing held before the
Industrial Accident Commission. The Clerk further presented. the
C~_ty Attorneyis report which recommended settlement of said claim.
It was moved by Councilman Pearson, seconded by Council-
man Willard, that the Council authorize the Mayor to execute said.
compromise and. release form in the settlement of Mr~ Anderson~s
claim before the Industrial Accident Commission.

ORDINANCE N0. 6~+3 entitled. "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD, IMPOSING A CITY SALES AND USE TAX; PROVIDING FOR THE
PERFORMANCE BY THE STATE BOARD OF EQUALIZATION OF ALL FUNCTIONS
INCIDENT TO THE ADMINISTRATION, OPERATION AND COLLECTION OF THE
SALES AND USE TAX ,HEREBY IMPOSED; SUSPENDING THE PROVISIONS OF
ORDINANCES NOS. x+84 AND 509 DURING SUCH TIME AS THIS ORDINANCE
IS OPERATIVE; AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS THEREOF."
was presented., It was moved. by Councilman Willard., seconded. by
Councilman Pender, that further reading be waived. All members
voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion duly carried.
It was moved by Councilman Pearson, seconded by Council-
man Willard., that said. ordinance be adopted as read. for the
second time, finally pass, and. be published. as required by law.

OF AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AND THE STATE BOARD
OF EQUALIZATION FOR THE PERFORMANCE BY SAID BOARD OF ALL FUNCTIONS
INCIDENT TO THE ADMINISTRATION, OPERATION, AND COLLECTION OF THE

The Clerk presented a request for exempt license from
the Rescue Army Ghurch and Industrial Department to solicit funds
and to collect salvage in the City of Lynwood.. The Clerk recom-
mended that said requF~st be referred to the City Attorney and
ChiFf of Police for investigation and report, It was moved by

concur in the recommendations of the Clerk, All members voting
aye, the Mayor declared the motion duly carried,
