Councilmen Finch, McMeekin, Pender, and. Summers answered. the roll call. Councilman Compton was absent. It was moved, by Councilman Pender, seconded. by Councilman Summers, that the minutes of the adjourned regular meeting of June 10, 1957 be approved: as written. All members present voting aye, the Mayor d:eelared the motion duly carried.. The Clerk presented. a communication from R. R. Strehlow, S. T. filer, Jr., and.. Herman Yaffe, owners and subdividers of Tract No, 20680, wherein they requested that the subdivision performance agreement executed.. on January 20, 1955, with the City of Lynwood, be extended. for an additional 12-month period, commencing June 20, 1957• They also requested that the faithful performance (subdivision contract) bond.. be reduced from $40,000 to $15,000. The Clerk stated. that the reduction of the bond. was ,justified, and. in agreement with the City Engineer, inasmuch as the majority of the improvements have been completed in said. subdivision. The City Attorney saw no ob~eetion to extending said agreement or the reductian of the bond., provided it is agreeable to the bonding company. It was moved by Councilman Summers, seconded. by Councilman Pender, that the Council rant the eartension as requested. and. the reduction of the bond to 15,000, subject to the consent of the bonding company (General Casualty Company of America). County Sanitation District No, l wherein they inform the City Council of (heir intention to construct, maintain, and operate a refuse transfer and disposal system within the .boundaries of said. sanitation district. The Clerk informed. the Council that should. they request exclusion from said. refuse transfer and. disposal system, that the Council must take action by September 10, 1957. It was moved by Councilman Pender, seconded by Councilman Finch, that said communication be accepted and. filed.. All members present voting aye, the Mayor declared, the motion duly carried.. The Clerk read. a letter, which was a copy of a letter sent to the Manager on May 24, from Mr. Roy Prim, 3228 Tweedy Boulevard, complaining of the Nickel-Chrome Plating Company excessive noise and emission of acid. fumes. After considerable discussion regarding the operation of the Nickel-Chrome Plating Company, the Manager was ir~strueted to attempt to resolve the problem between the two indi- viduals. It was moved. by Councilman Pender, seconded. by Councilman Finch, that said said, communication be accepted. and. filed.. All members present voting aye, the Mayor declared. the motion duly caw°ried.. Mayor McMeekin presented. to Mrs. Charles M. Hall, a plaque in recognition of Mr. Charles Halls service to the City as Building Official.
