REGULAR MEETING JULY' 2, 1957 The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in a regular session in the City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, on above date a~ 7:30 p,m. Mayor Compton in the ch,air~ Councilmen Compton, Finch, McMeekin, Pend.er, and Suanm,ers answered the roll Dell. It was moved by Councilman w~'~~:~-~~ners, seconded. by Council- woman McMeekin, that the minutes of th. previous regular meeting of June l~, 1957 be approved as written. All members voting aye, the Mayoz4 declared the motion duly carried. The Clerk presented a communication from the Ste Emydius Mo'therst Club requesting renewal of their annual dance permit at th~~ ~pa~^ish hall at the corner of California and Mulford.s The Clerk stated 'Nhat thy: previsions of city ordinance ~I-Ol, the dance ordin~ a:~s,r:~:, requiz^es approval by the City Council for the issuance of an an~~,°.xa1. permit. It was moved by Councilwoman McMeekin, seconded. by Councilman Summers, that the St. Emydius Motherst Club be granted. an annual dance permit, effective July 1, 1.957, subject to the pro® visions of Ordinance No. 401. All members voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion duly carried.. The home occupation applicat3_on of William Pe Lloyd, 1.0798 ,~atate Street, which was held ever .from the last regular :neet~,ng to permit the Building Inspector to issue a certificate of occupancy, was presented. Mr. Lloyd requests permission to conduct th~a busi~.ess of sound: engineering repair and service within his home. T~~t~ C'~erk stated: that the Building Inspector has issued the certificate of occupancy as required, and no protests have been f:°~`~.ed, 'by the residents of the neighborhood, It was moved by Councilwoman McMeekin, seconded by Councilman Summers, that said. horns occupation permit be granted, All members voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion duly carried.. The Clerk presented a communication from Supervisor Warren M. Dorn requesting the .Council to proclaim July 16 as "Joe Scott Day" in commemoration of his 90th birthday, It was moved. by Councilman Summers, seconded by Councilwoman McMeekin, that the Co~~,ncil: authorize the Mayor to issue said. proclamation, All members voting ay c;, the-Mayor declared. the motion duly carried., The Manager presented for the Councils approval an agree- ment~ foxy the installation of grade crossing signals at Fernwood. Avenue and the Southern Pacific Railway Crossing between the Southern Pacific Railway, the County of Los Angeles, and the City of ~~ynwood. The Manager stated that the .City of Lynwood.ps share would be twenty-five per cent of the total cost. It was moved by Councilman Ponder, seconded by Councilwoman McMeekin, that the Counc~.l approve said. agreement and authorize the Mayor and Clerk to e:~ecute said: agreement on behalf of the City of Lynwood. The Manager presented. for the Councils approval a general services agreement between" the County of Los Angeles and the City of Lynwood. The Manager stated. that said. general services agreement covers the County furnishing the City of Lynwood such services as personnel examinations, police, health, and such other services that the .City might wish the County to perform for the City of Lynwoad under contract. xt was moved by Councilwoman McMeekin, seconded by Council- man Finch, that the Council approve said. general services agreement, effective July 1, 1957 for a period. of five years, and authorize the Mayor and.
