HomeMy Public PortalAboutM 1957-10-22 - CC~~o SPECIAL MEETING ~OCfiOBER 22, 1957 The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in a special session in the Ciity Hall, 11330 Bullis Road., on above date at 3:30 p.m. Mayor Compton in .the chair. Councilmen Compton, Finch, McMeekin, Pender, and Summers answered the roll call. The Clerk .presented waiver of notice of the special meeting signed. by representatives of the Compton-Lynwood Herald. American, Lynwood Press, and. Mirror-News who had requested. to be ""? notified of any special Council meetings. The Mayor stated. that the purpose of the special Council meeting was to consider a proposition by Gilbert Mills, a former employee of the City,for a compromise and. settlement of his discharge by the Chief of Police and. his claims for compensation during the time that his discharge has been on appeal,for which each member of the Council agreed. to holding the special meeting. The Mayor asked Mr. Gilbert Mills if he wished to discuss the proposition in a public meeting or if he preferred. the Cou.ricil to convene to an executive session. Mr. Mills requested a private meeting with the City Council. The Mayor adjourned. the meeting to an executive session. Following the executive session, the Council reconvened. in general session. The Mayor stated. that no decision had. been reached. at this time regarding the proposition by Gilbert Mills. It was moved. by Councilman Pender, seconded. by Councilman Summers, that the special meeting be adjourned. All members voting aye, the Mayor declared. the moti~r~ duly ,~ri fd~( inn .
