RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, Theodore Surick has commenced a workers compensation action against
the Borough of Cartcret, the "Borough" in connection with certain injuries alleged to
have occun'ed while in the course of his employment; and
WHEREAS, the Borough has vigorously defended the matter; and
WHEREAS, after completion of a portion of the hearing, counsel for the Borough has
recommended settlement of the matter; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council have considered thc recommendation and have
determined that settlement is in the best interest of the Borough.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough
of Carteret that settlement in the workers compensation matter titled Surick v. Borough of
Carteret in the amount of $19,599.20 (plus such additional cost as the judge may assess)
is hereby approved.
BE, IT, FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor, Borough Clerk and attorney for the
Borough bc and are hereby authorized to executed such documents as are necessary for
the finalization of the settlement.
Adopted this 19m day of December, 2000 and
certified as a true copy of the original on
December 20, 2000.

NOT TO EXCEED $19,599.20.
According to the terms set forth in Resolution.
THE BOROUGH does hereby agree to pay the Contractor the sum set
forth in Resolution.
