Councilmen Compton, Finer, McMeekin, Pender, and. Summers answered the roll call. It was moved. by Councilwoman McMeekin, seconded. by Council- man Pender, that the minutes of the previous regular meeting of October 15, 1957 and. the special meeting of October 22, 1957 be approved. as written. All members voting aye, %he Mayor declared. the motion duly carried. The Clerk presented. a communication from Boy Scout Troop No. 60 requesting exemption from the business license fee to operate a C~arist,mas Tree lot at 3545 Century Boulevard, from December 13 throug~~3 December 23, 1957. It was moved. by Councilwoman McMeekin, sec.oryd.e:~ by Councilman Summers, that the exemption from the business lacensF3 fee be granted to the Boy Scout Troop. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Compton, Finch, McMeekin, Pender, and. Summers. Noes: None. Absent: None. The Clerk presented. a communication from Guy E. Moothart, informing the Council of the necessity to resign from the City Planning Commission d.ue to a conflict of meeting dates that will make h.is future attendance impractical. Tt was moved by loiayor Compton, seconded. by Councilwoman McMeekin, that said. resignation be accepted and. that a letter of commendation be sent him for his services as~a member of the City Planning Commission. All members voting aye, the Mayor declared. the motion duly carried.. Mayor Compton submitted. the name of Mr. Fred YergPr as a replacement. Whereupon, it was moved. by Councilwoman McMeekin, seconded. by Councilman Finch,. that Mr°. Fred. Yerger be appointed. to fill the unexpired. term resulting from the resignation of Mr. Moothart, whose term expires July 1, 1959• Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Compton, Finch, McMeekin, Pender, and. Summers. Noes: None. Absent: None. The Clerk presented. a claim for damage against the City of Lynwood. by Mrs. Berta Fleischman, 10200 San Jose, South Gate, for personal injuries received. on the 11th day of September, 1957• It was moved. by Councilman Pender, seconded. by Councilman Summers, that said. claim for damages be referred to the Cityts insurance carrier for disposition. All members voting aye, the Mayor declared. the motion duly carried. The Clerk presented. a communication from the Chrome-Nickel Plating Company, 3230 Tweedy Boulevard., requesting that they be allowed. a loading zone in the front of the above ad.d.ress. It was moved by Councilman Pender, seconded by Councilwoman McMeekin, that said request be referred- to the Traffic Authority and. Manager for investigation and. report. All members voting aye, the Mayor declared. the motion duly carried.. The Clerk presented. a communication from the Midlands District, Boy Scouts of America, expressing their appreciation to the City for allowing them to conduct their annual fall field. days on October 25 and 26 in the City Park, and. for the cooperation received from the various departments of the city. It was moved. by Councilman Pender, seconded by Councilwoman McMeekin, that said. communication be accepted. and. filed. 'All members voting aye, the Mayor declared. the motion duly carried.. -- The Clerk presented. for second reading and adoption by the City Council an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE LICENSING, VACCINATION, AND REGULATION OF DOGS." "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 570 ~'OR THE PURPOSE OF RECLASSIFICATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY AND TINE ADOFTION OF AN AMENDED SECTION OF THE ZONING MAP WHICH IS A PART OP` SAID ORDINANCE N0. 570" was presented. for second. reading. The Clerk stated. that at the last regular meeting,the City Planning Commission recommended. to the City Council that Ordinance No. 570 be amended. to require each parcel of land in an R Zone to have a minimum of approximately 6,000 square feet, and requiring Planning Commission approval for lot splits. Whereupon, and. ordinance entitled. "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AMENDING CHAPTERS II, VI, AND XIV OF ORDINANCE N0. 570" was presented..
