NOVEMBER g, 1957 The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in a special session in the City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road., on above date at 6 p.m. Mayor Compton in .the chair. Councilmen Compton, Finch, McMeekin, Pender, and. Summers answered. the roll call. Mayor Compton stated. that the purpose of the meeting was to consider a proposition by Gilbert Mills, a former employee of the .city, for a compromise and settlement of his discharge by the Chief of Police and his claim for compensation d.ue him pursuant to the provisions of Section 4850 of the State Labor Code. The Mayor asked the City Attorney for information relative to the proposition. The City Attorney presented. the following: 1. Commitment by Mi11s that he will retire as of May 1, 195"j , 2. Stipulation between State Compensation Fund. and City and ?vlills, by their respective counsel, before Referee of Industrial Accident Commission that all temporary disability ceased. on May 1, 1~~i7. 3. City pay Mills additional ~+ months salary. 4. Mills be reinstated. following entry of Stipulation a. rid approval thereof by Industrial Accident Commission. There followed. discussion regarding each point of the ~:~roposition. It was moved. by Councilman Summers seconded. by :ounrilwoman McMeekin, that the offer of compromise and. settlement ~by Gilbert M111s, a former employee of the city, of his claim for compensation due him pursuant to the provisions of Section 4850 of the State Labor Code, as outlined. by the City Attorney, be rejected.. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Compton, Finch, McMeekin, Pend.er, and. Summers. Noes: None. Absent: None. It was moved by Councilwoman McMeekin, seconded. by Council- rnan Pend.er, that the meeting be adjourned, All members voting aye, .the Mayor declared. the motion duly ca vied.
