A RESOLUTION TO MODIFY THE CITY OF TIFFIN FIRE DEPARTMENT STIPEND
PROGRAM TO ALIGN WITH THE 2021 SAFER GRANT AWARD
Whereas, the Tiffin City Council approved a stipend program for the Tiffin Fire Department in
2021 and updated it in 2022; and,
Whereas, with the award of the SAFER grant to the Tiffin Fire Department a review of the
program is necessary to make sure the program is meeting the guidelines of the grant; and,
Whereas, the fire department officers have conducted a review of the program and
recommend the attached updates,
Now, therefore be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa to approve the
attached updated Tiffin Fire Department Stipend Program effective June 1, 2023.
On this 30th day of May, 2023, at the regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa,
Councilperson Schnedler introduced RESOLUTION NO. 2023-037, A RESOLUTION TO
MODIFY THE CITY OF TIFFIN FIRE DEPARTMENT STIPEND PROGRAM TO ALIGN
WITH THE 2021 SAFER GRANT AWARD and made a motion for approval. The motion was
seconded by Councilperson Orris.
Ayes: Olney, Schnedler, Havens, Orris.
Nays: None.
Absent: None.
Whereupon four Council members were present and voted approval and Mayor Berner
declared that RESOLUTION NO. 2023-037, A RESOLUTION TO MODIFY THE CITY OF
TIFFIN FIRE DEPARTMENT STIPEND PROGRAM TO ALIGN WITH THE 2021 SAFER
GRANT AWARD to be adopted and signified his approval of the same by affixing his
signature thereunto.
Passed by the City Council on the 30th day of May, 2023.
