Councilmen Compton, Finch, McMeekin, Pender, and. Summers answered. the roll call. It was moved by Councilwoman McMeekin, seconded. by Council- man Summers, that the minutes of the previous regular meet- ing of February 4, 1958, be approved. as written, All members voting aye, the Mayor declared. the motion duly carried.. City of The Clerk presented a communication from the City of Hope Hope National Medical Center, requesting permission to conduct house-to-house solicitation of funds in the City of Lynwood. on Sunday, June 8, 1958. It was moved by Councilman Summers, seconded. by Councilwoman McMeekin, that permission be granted.. All members voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion duly carried . It was moved. by Councilwoman McMeekin, seconded. by Councilman Finch, that the Mayor be authorized. to issue the proclamation on behalf of the City Council. All members voting aye, the Mayor declared the motion duly carried.. The Clerk presented a communication from the Planning Commission wherein they recommended. that the parking on Euclid. Avenue between Alpine and. Bullis Road. be restricted. to one side of the street only, It was moved. by Council- man Pender, seconded by Councilwoman McMeekin, that the Council concur in the recommendation of the Planning Commission and. authorize the Chief of Police to establish said. restricted. parking. Absent: Councilman Pender. There followed. discussion on establishing the compensation Salary of the City Clerk and. City Treasurer wherein it was Ordinance, agreed. that the salaries should. be fixed. at $500.00 per Clerk month, commencing with the new terms of office. Shepherd. Foundation for an Foundation exempt license to collect salvage in the City of Lynwood., wherein he stated he found no reason why this license should. be denied. It was moved. by Councilman Finch, seconded by Councilman Summers, that said organization be granted. an exempt business license to collect salvage in the City of Lynwood. Christian The Manager presented. a report from the Chief of Police on Service the application of the Christian Service Organization for an Organization exempt license to collect salvage in the City of Lynwood, wherein he stated. he found. no reason why this license shou:~d. be denied..
