CALL TO ORDER
A Special Council Meeting was held on April 24, 1997, 7:30 P.M. The first order of business
in the absence of Mayor Duane Schreimann and President Pro Tempore Charles Jackson,
was to select a presiding officer for the meeting. Upon motion by Councilman Bill Byrd and
second by Councilman Randy Kammerdiener, Councilman James Haake was elected
unanimously to preside over the meeting.
Presiding Officer James Haake took the chair to call the meeting to order.

The following Council Members were present for roll call:
Present: Byrd, Haake, Jaynes, Kammerdiener, Landwehr, McDowell, Nelson, and
Vincent
Absent: Jackson and Nilges
A quorum was declared present.
BILLS PENDING
Bill 97 -11, sponsored by Councilman Haake, entitled:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH DON SCHNIEDERS
EXCAVATING COMPANY, INC. FOR LONDON WAY (CDBG 96- ED -11) PROJECT.
Bill 97 -11 was read third time by title, placed on final passage and passed by the following
vote as Ordinance 12604:

OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON.

Councilman Carl Jaynes requested that the rules be suspended and Bill 97 -14 placed on
final passage. There were no objections to the request for suspension of the rules. Bill
97 -14 was then read second and third times by title, placed on final passage, and passed
by the following vote as Ordinance No. 12605:

Bill 97 -15, sponsored by Councilman Jaynes, entitled:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, ACCEPTING AND
APPROVING THE PLAT OF SOUTHGATE SUBDIVISION, SECTION FIVE, A
SUBDIVISION OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON.
INFORMAL CALENDAR
Bill 97 -8, sponsored by Councilman Nilges, entitled:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, CHANGING, AMENDING,
AND MODIFYING THE ZONING MAP OF THE ZONING CODE OF THE CITY OF
JEFFERSON, BY REZONING 10,030 SQUARE FEET OF LAND, LOCATED SOUTH OF
THE INTERSECTION OF OSCAR DRIVE AND AARON COURT, FROM C -2, GENERAL
COMMERCIAL, TO PUD, PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT.
A motion was made by Councilman Carolyn McDowell to remove Bill 96 -8 from the Informal
Calendar and place it on final passage, seconded by Councilman Randy Kammerdiener and
approved unanimously. Bill 97 -8 was read third time by title, placed on final passage and
passed by the following vote as Ordinance 12606:

and Vincent
Nay: None
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Council at this time, a motion was made
by Councilman Carolyn McDowell to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Councilman Bill
Byrd and approved unanimously at 8:45 PM.
