The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in an adjourned.
regular session in the City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road., on above
date at 2 p,m.
Mayor Finch in the chair.
Councilmen Englis'r~, Finch, Pender, Rowe, and. Summers answered. the

English, that the minutes of the regular meeting of August 19, --
1958 be approved. as written. All members voting aye, the Mayor
declared. the motion duly carried.,
Res. 2841 - RESOLUTION N0, 2841 entitled "A RESOLUTION OF THE INCORPORATED
Tax Rates CITY OF LYNWOOD ESTABLISHING TAX DISTRICT NUMBER 1 OF' SAID
1958-59 CITY, FIXING THE RATES OF TAXES, AND LEVYING TAXES FOR THE
FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JULY 1, 195$ AND ENDING JUNE 3C, 1929"
was presented.. It was moved by Councilman Pender, seconded.
by Councilman English, that said. Resolution be adopted.

Jr.Chamber The Clerk presented. a communication which was held. over from
of Commerce the last regular meeting, from the Junior Chamber of Commerce
Ice Cream wherein they requested. an exemption from the City business
Social license fees to conduct an ice cream soclal on Septerr~ber 13
in the City Park.
Recreation Director Arnold. Robles appraised. the Council that
the Recreation Commission has, at this time, only given per-
mission to conduct an ice cream social.
After considerable discussion, it was agreed. to hold. the
request in abeyance until final arrangements between the
Recreation Commission and. the Junior Chamber of Commerce are
completed..
Glen Mayor Finch read. a communication from Mr, Glen Fullerton,
Fullerton - 11328 Atlantic Avenue, requesting the Council to rescind.
Freeway Plan its previous action in approving the plan of freeways and.
expressways for Los Angeles County.
It was moved by Councilman Pender, seconded. by Councilman
English, that .said communication be accepted. and. filed.. All
members voting aye, the Mayor declared. the motion duly carried..
Garbage - The Manager again presented. far Council discussion his report

There followed. considerable discussion on the contractorts
request. The Manager also explained. the purpose of adopting
a new ordinance regulating garbage and rubbish collection and.
the charges for such service.
