Mayor Finch in the chair. Councilmen English, Finch, Pender, Rowe, and. Summers answered. the roll call. It was moved by Councilman Pender, seconded by Councilman Summers, that the minutes of the previous regular meeting of August ~-, 1959, be approved. as written. All members voting aye, the Mayor declared. the motion duly carried., RESOLUTION N0. 59-36 entitled "RESOLUTION OF THE CITY Res. 59-36 COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD ALLOWING AND APPROVING THE Demands DEMANDS PRESENTED AND ORDERING WARRANTS DRAWN THEREFOR," was presented... The Clerk stated. that this fund. was; created to set aside 30~ of the total sales tax revenues, not to exceed $1.00,000 per year, for the general purpose of tax red~~ction. MacArthur, Civil reorganiza- Defense Director for the City,wherein he stated that the Lion. purpose of reorganization of Area "E" is to hire a full time, paid. Civil Defense Director to stimulate interest on the local level. The Manager recommended participation in the establish- ment of a paid coordinator for Civil Defense activities in Area "E" for a period. of one year, at a cost not to exceed. $429.50. It was moved. by Councilman English, seconded. by Summers, that the Council concur in the recommendations of the City Manager in participating in the reorganization of Area "E . Master High--The Manager presented. for the Councilts consideration the way Plan proposed Master Highway Plan of the City of Lynwood.. The Approved... Manager stated. that no changes have .been made in the present plan over the ones previously approved by the City Council, but as a part of the urban renewal program the plan requires Council approval, It was moved. by Councilman Rowe, seconded by Councilman English, that the Council adopt the Master Plan of Highways -,. for the City of Lynwood, as presented. by the Manager.
