Allison, which was held. over from 'the previous meeting, for a quitclaim deed. to the easterly 13~ of Lot 2, Block l~F, Belle Vernon Acres, was presentede Mr. George Kennedy, representing Mr. Allison, stated. that his client was entitled. to a quitclaim deed and. that the city has n.o defense to the title of said- land.; also, that Mro Allison should. not be penalized. by making it necessary for him to institute quiet title action in order to gain title to the property. After a lengthy discussion in which several motions were made and. failed for lack of seconds, the Mayor declared. a 10-minute recess. Following the recess, the Mayor again called. the meeting to order. There followed. a discussion of acquiring the easterly 13a of Lots 1 and. 3, which are also owned. by Mre Allison, in which Mr Kennedy stated. that Mr. Allison .could. not deed said properties to the city under the terms of his agree- ment with the prospective purchaser of the land.. It was moved. by Councilman Summers, seconded. by Councilman Pender, that the City Council authorize the execution of a quitclaim deed. to Samuel M. Allison, an unmarried. man, to the following described. property, and. that the Mayor and. Imperial and. Josephine and. Orchard. under the Improvement Act of 1911. Mr. Pearson requested. that th.e City Council consider giving financial assistance to said. project. The Manager stated. that the estimated. cost of this project is 60,000. After discussion, it was moved. by Mayor Finch, seconded by Councilman Pender, that the Council agree to provide financial. assistance in the amount of 30~ of the total cost of said. project.
