Tb.e City Council of the City of Lynwood. met in a special session
in the C1_ty Hall, 11330 Bullis Road., on above date at 7 p.m.
Mayor :Pinch in the chair.
Co,~ncilmer~ Finch, Pender, Rowe, and. Summers answered the roll
call.
Councilman English was absent.
"~e Clerk stated. that the Mayor had. called this special meeting
for the purpose of considering proposals submitted for the
collection and. disposal of garbage and. rubbish and. awarding the
contract for the furnishing of said. service for the period of
November 1, 195q to October 31, 1962. The Clerk further stated
that notices of said special meeting had. been given as reauired
by law.

for the collection and. disposal of garbage and. rubbish wherein
he stated that the proposal of William Pratty was the only one
lower in cent than the present contract. His report further
stated. that in investigating Mr. Pratty~s record of service a
favorable report was not. received in 4 of the communities he
has served in the past and that the savings amounted. to only
7~ per *ronth per home owner. ,The Manager recommended that the
contract for the collection and. disposal of garbage and. rubbish
from November 1, 1959 to October 31, 1962 be awarded to Andrew
V. Hokin, the present contractor, on the same cost basis as the
present contract ($9,007.40 per month).
Mr. Pratty addressed. the Council and. presented photographs of
the type of equipment proposed. to be used., Tetters of recommen-
dation, and. stated that his proposal was self-explanatory.
Councilman English arrived. and. took his. place.
Hokin awarded. It was moved. by Councilman Summers, seconded by Councilman
