THE DEMANDS PRESENTED AND ORDERIAiG WARRANTS DRAWN THERE-
FOR," was presented.. It was moved by Councilman English,
seconded by Councilman Pend.er, that the resolution be
adopted..

The hour of 7x30 p.m. having arrived., said. hour being the Vacation of
time fixed. for the hearing on the proposed. vacation of street &
ce:ratain alleys and. street in the Commerce Tract, the Clerk alleys in
presented. his affidavits of posting and. publication, as Commerce
required. by law, and. stated that no written protests of Tract-Hearin
the proposed. vacation have been filed..
Mayor Finch stated that the City is being asked. to vacate
~' certain alleys and. street in the .Commerce Tract, and. sell
city property to the Desser Company on the premise that
an industrial tract will be developed in the near future.
Mr. Marcus, representing the Desser Tire and. Rubber Company,
owners of the property surrounding the alleys and. street
to be vacated., addressed the Council and stated. that upon
completion of the vacation proceedings, the company would.
commence negotiations to develop the area for industrial
purposes, and. on behalf of the company, would. go on record
that should. no industrial development of the property be
made, they would. rededicate the vacated. street and. alleys
to the city and. resell Lots 45 and. 46 in the Commerce
Tract to the City of Lynwood at the same price they are
offering the City.
There followed. considerable discussion on the Company~s
offer as stated.
The City Attorney said. he felt possibly a subdivision map
of the area should be filed.. The City Engineer stated that
he felt a subdivision map was not necessary, and explained
the history of the Commerce Tract.

Santa Fe right of way, it was moved. by Councilman English,
seconded. by Councilman Pend.er, that the hearing be con-
' clud.ed. All members voting aye, the Mayor declared. the
motion duly carried..

Lots 45,46, The Manager stated that pursuant to the notice inviting bids
Bullis- for t:~a.e purchase of Lots 45 and. 4~ of the Bullis-Alameda Street
Alameda St. Tract, he had. received. only one bid, that being a sealed. bid
Tract sold. of $7,650 from the Desser Tire ~; Rubber Company. r'he Manager
to Desser stated. that he ha d. four appraisals from local realtors wherein
Tire & the;y7 appraised. the property at approximately 1.00 per square
Rubber Co. foot, which this offer is, and. recorrunended that the Council
accept the offer of the Desser Tire & Rubber Company.
It was moved. by Councilman Pender, seconded by Councilman
English, that the Council concur in the recommendations of
the City Engineer and. sell said proper°ty to the Desser Tire
& Rubber Company at the offer submitted.

It was moved. by Councilman Summers, seconded. by Councilman
Pender, that the Council authorize the issuance of a corpora-
tion quit claim deed. to the Lynwood.-Alameda Corporation for
Lots 45 and 46, Bullis-Alameda Street Tract as shown on map
recorded. in Book 9, Page 105 of Maps, in the office of the
Recorder of Los Angeles County, California, and authorize
the Mayor and. Clerk to execute said deed. on behalf of the
City of Lynwood..

also refrain from the listing of unlisted. telephone numbers.
After discussion of the use of the word. "official" and.
invasion of persorf`~ights, it was moved. by Councilman
Ponder, seconded. by Councilman English, that said. communi-
cation be accepted. and that the Luckey Brothers & Co. be
informed. that the directory should. not in any way imply
that it .i3 an official directory of the City of Lynwood..

sior~ regarding the request to vacate a 10+ walkway between vacation
Atlantic Avenue and. the first alley easterly of Atlantic
Avenue wherein they recommend that the City. Council
institute proceedings for said. vacation.

which denies the request for change of zone from R-1 to

was moved. by Councilman Ponder, seconded by Councilman
Summers, that the Council concur in the action of the
Planning Commission. All members voting aye, the Mayor
declared. the motion duly carried..
The Clerk presented. for the Council+s approval an exten-
sion of the agreement for an ad.d.itional year between the
Southern California Humane Society and the City of Lynwood.
for animal regulation within the city. .The Clerk, as
License Collector, recommended that the extension of the
- orig1nal agreement for an additional year be .approved.
It was moved by Councilman Rowe, seconded. by Councilman
.English, that the Council concur in the recommendations
of the City Clerk, and. authorize the Mayor and. Clerk to

Anthony & The Clerk presented. for the Counci.l1s approval the agreement
Langford. between the City and the architectural firm of Anthony &

approved, for the community recreation facility. It was moved. by
Councilman. Summers, seconded by Councilman English, that the
Council approve said agreement and authorize the Mayor and.

Mutual Aid. The Mutual Aid Fire and Police Protection Agreements between

for the purchasing of one Water Department billing
machine to replace the present machine, and one new
general typewriter accounting machine for general
accounting purposes. It was moved. by Councilman English,
